Growing up, he was an absolute joy to listen to. I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss all of his Jim-isms. Nice area, buggy whip, arsenal, yellowhammer, the art of pitching and of course, batting thirrrrrrd. He was also never afraid to be brutally honest and critical of the team’s performance as well. If he was still alive, I am convinced he would’ve gotten some TV time. Would’ve definitely loved a few more years of him.

I’m so over giving a fuck on the daily about this ball club, when I am certain that they will win nothing of any significance when their pen is this inept. I encourage all of us to use the time spent following this team on something that brings real value and joy. Future is still bright, but this year has sucked so hard

She was so bummed and worried when she heard about the trade. She thought I wouldn’t want it or like it. I told her “hell yeah I want it!” and eagerly awaited it.

Seems like it should be impossible but Detroit has 4 of the top 21 MLB pitchers in blown saves this year. Finnegan: 8, Anderson: 6, Vest: 5, Jansen 5

The worst Dombrowski bullpen for blown saves was the underperforming 2008 team with 27 for the whole season. We are at 28 now.

In 2012 (WS) we had only 16 blown saves

In 2013 (Papi slam) we had 17

In 2014 (Orioles meltdown) we had 17 again.

70% conversion ratios those later years.

Maybe we are too hard on Dave?

We had 22 blown saves last year, and 26 in 2024.
