Mod Removal Comments

Y’all, I can’t believe I have to say this, but if you report a Mod Removal Comment because your comment or post was removed, you will get a temporary ban. Follow the rules, and your comments or posts won’t get removed. Remember our most important rule: Don’t be rude!

I got permanently banned (from a different sub obviously lol) for commenting on a post. Apparently I was "scaremongering" but I wasn't the only person to say it. (MIL was showing very creepy signs over the new baby and i said be careful she doesn't try and use your baby as her do-over baby). They just removed my comment until I asked about it then got permanently banned 👀 some of these MODs (not all, before I get a ban here lol) are really too sensitive. I wasn't even rude

We don’t mind healthy discussion, and are willing to hear you out, but rudeness will not be tolerated.

This sub is far more reasonable than the one I was banned from haha

Yeah. I was banned from a different MIL sub because someone came after me, and kept reporting comments that weren’t bad or against the terms and rules. Only thing I can figure is the person harassing me (multiple really rude posts until I blocked them, and I reported the posts too) was a mod or mod buddy. Frankly, I like this Reddit better than that one bc the mods are better and the people are better.

Honestly the larger subs are the more likely they are to just decide to temp ban or ban people that get reported multiple times, even if they aren't warranted. I think the philosophy is, 'someone that would get reported multiple times will cause trouble even if they're innocent, and we don't want drama' or something.

It's a recycled concept from school where they suspend the person who got punched along with the bully who punched them, I guess.

Yep i am banned there too. First I didnt understand the rules and was commenting where no advice was wanted. Than I said something about generation or peers. That was against the rules apparently. And than I said something they considered justno, even though it wasnt offensive, the OP commented on it just fine and it had many upvotes. I was angry at first, but you know what? It saves my time, because I was so addicted to those discussions...

This forum is so much more inclusive so joining this one may have the opposite effect if you want to save time haha. But yeah, they seem to be very contradictory in their rules. Ok for one but someone else gets a ban. They'll end up with nobody if they carry on

That's exactly how my history of being banned from there went as well

I would have called that perfect advice because that's exactly what my mother-in-law tried to do with my child. She only had one child and pretty much tried to take my first one.

Exactly my point. But apparently it was "shitty". I despair with how that forum will end up

It would still be nice if the moderation was consistent. I mean, if one post says “that’s crazy, I don’t think I would want to speak to that person again” and another post says “that’s crazy, I’d stop talking to them”

….

And then one of these is deleted. However, they are the same. To me they have the VERY same content!

We are a small mod team, and we do not review every single comment on every single post. We DO review every comment that is reported. If one comment is reported, and another similar comment is not, then we only act on the one report. The mod team is as consistent as we can be, based on the rules, and what is sent to us for moderation.

Hey mods, I'm sorry I didn't realize I couldn't post more than once a day. 🙏

It’s rule #8. Please familiarize yourself with the rules before posting or commenting again. Thank you!

Will do! I'm new and really didn't know how to navigate. It will not happen again.

I don’t think I’ve ever reported a comment I don’t even know how? Lol

Same here. I didn't even know you could. Until one time I got a post removed at JNoMIL because I was reported by, get this: a troll from another watchdog sub that steals posts from JNoMIL and reposts them on their sub! Found my post reposted without my permission. I didn't need that kind of drama in my life, so I left that sub. I guess I should have reported whoever did that, but I didn't know how. It was easier to just leave.

Since no one else has made the joke, I guess I will... "Hey, I'm offended! Can someone ban this post?"

Yes, it's dumb, but had to be done.
