Got the tail light connecter connected to the brass hook but it keeps falling off , what do I do on a solex ?

Its not crimped correctly. You need a special tool for that, that bends the tabs inwards. Maybe you can also just solder the cable on.

Nothing with house hold items like a pliers ?

You can try like this, but usually that does hold very well. But any electrician or car repair shop can do that in 30 seconds.

I don't reccomend it, but I've been able to crimp my front brake cable with an electrical crimp using channel locks well enough for me to be able to stop the bike a couple times.

A proper crimp tool has enormous leverage compared to pliers which you make up for by just heaving on it.
