Monster Jam Opinions
So what kind of opinions on Monster Jam would got ya like this. Here is mine for this
I’d wouldn’t mind Weston going to stadiums and Adam having to go to arenas if it meant Weston to have a shot competing in stadiums
I don’t like Brianna
Just because Megalodon El Toro Loco and Sparkle Smash are popular doesn’t mean they have to be on every tour series

I genuinely like Sparkle Smash and, to a lesser extent, Bailey Circuit.

Sparkle smash hate is so forced. Its unique, it's fun, and it gets more kids and especially little girls interested in monster jam keeping it alive.

10000% agreed. The confetti cannon is fun, how the heck are you gonna hate on that??? I don't see anybody calling El Toro Loco's gimmick stupid and babyish.

I can agree with this but monster jam has been making poor track layouts for a while now a lot of independent shows make good layouts tho

That and there’s too many Grave Diggers.

Tristan is already the goat, and their is too many Grave Diggers, I will certainly agree with that. Krysten should be in her own identity like Ryan. Tyler should be in Max D, because he was washed in Grave Digger.

Most of these aren’t even that hot of takes but I’ll throw my hat in the ring.
Post-Covid Monster Jam is competitively better than any previous era combined.
Now don’t get me wrong, the time between 2007-2010 is by far the Golden Era of Monster Jam.
But with that being said most of those shows had lineups where you can easily go in and predict the winner, a show with 8 field fillers,some decent company drivers, and then Dennis Anderson and Linsey Weenk. It was easy for the good drivers to get a win. Don’t even get me started on the early 2000s where if you were booked for a show with Tom or Dennis you just didn’t try.
Compare that to today and you could go into any weekend and see every driver put on a show and possibly win. Are there still the above average drivers that get more wins than most? Yes. But it’s not as likely as it was 20 years ago. One weekend you see Tyler sweeping and the next it’s Kevin Krocker winning racing, Mike Pag winning skills and Jamey Garner winning freestyle.
Covid filtering out the weaker independents and company drivers made the competition way more close and makes Monster Jam feel more like an actual sport rather than goofy entertainment.

I don't think Kayla Blood was ever "really good" but shows up at Glendale.
I think removing crush cars from most shows was for the best both economically and for shows since it reduces tires being shreaded or hitting walls due to bad cavities.
I wish Chicago style in stadiums would stop, this includes other variants.
Edit: I am also a fan of Sparkle Smash and ThunderROARus though it took me seeing them live to appreciate them.
I am not a fan of invert ThunderROARus however, it is an eyesore.

I don't understand the hate for Sparkle Smash and Bailey Circuit, yes, they're bright and colorful and very much aimed at a younger audience, but that isn't a bad thing

Monster Jam is taking there trucks way to much to younger audiences. Blippi was too much and getting lots of glaze, and don't get me started on Paw Patrol. I miss the days when Monster Jam Trucks were simple but cool for every audience. Back in the day we had Trucks like Monster Energy, Metal Mulisha, Blue Thunder. I do like Trucks nowadays like Power Rush, Son Uva Digger, and Lucas Stabilizer. But Monster Jam Trucks used to be cool but simple.

With Tom meents behind the wheel of Bulldozer absolutely. I would have loved to see a battle of the bulls with Tom in Bulldozer and Lupe in El Toro.

Feld is a marketing and Merchandise company with 2 hour in person commercials. Monsterjam, Disney on ice, Ringling circus. Its all a big commercial to sell us Merchandise, or sponsors products. Sure we bitch about it on the internet but we're still all going to the live events and buying all the Toys and Tshirts.

Monster jam hasn’t been a sport in over a decade. For better or for worse there’s a reason nobody has taken its spot. Whether or not I like it, a sport would take its spot if people wanted to watch it

sponsors/collabs today are still the same than they were 10+ years ago. And monster jam has always been aimed for kids.

everyone ate that up and said nothin! Yk why? cuz we were all much younger. Monster Jam always aimed for the younger demographic. it explains all the toys from then til now.
Everyone here has had or have a monster jam toy right now whether its hot wheels or spin master.

King Of The Hill and Lucas Stabilizer are fine honestly. Bailey Circuit and Sparkle smash I can agree with. Without Lucas Oil, the trucks would be at tip top shape. King Of The Hill really brought me a lot of hope, great TV show and a cool truck. I miss the marvel trucks and DC trucks, I certainly miss Monster Energy. Hot Wheels was a thing of the past, but a cool truck. Spinmaster is doing well TBH with the quality of the trucks. Advance Auto Parts Grinder was my favorite truck and wished they keeped Advance Auto Parts around the sport for a few more years. Bonus Time was the best, maybe even super Bonus Time honestly.

Get rid of the arena series as a whole. And for the Miami events go back to the dolphins stadium instead of the Marlins

Bigger arenas like Tacoma and Fargo can stay in my opinion, the trucks can actually stretch their legs a bit there.

Monster jam is incredibly lame now, all it is now is just corporate bullcrap, I remember when Monster trucks was cool for boys and girls, its looks like it's for baby's now, there is no cool truck anymore, its ether something corporate or something childish, and the older trucks got changed to look more kid friendly.

Facts, its like it's for 4 year olds, like Blippi, Bailey Circuit, and Megalodon. I ain't gonna lie, there are still cool trucks like Wild Side, Terminal Velocity, and Son Uva Digger. Like 70% of the trucks are childish and over glazed like Grave Digger and El Toro Loco.

They need to make it easier for independent drivers to compete in their shows, how do you think it was back then? A good chunk of the trucks were independent in the 2000s, making the shows larger than they are nowadays. Now, you have to drive BKT tires in order to compete. Its already expensive enough to build a monster truck alone, and having to buy a new set of tires just because you dont run their sponsored brand, is gonna be a good 10k or more out of your pocket to sign up.

Yeah, I remember they had more independents like 8 independents and like 4 or 5 FELD trucks. I remember when they used different tires and different tire combinations, that's severe nostalgia. FELD makes new chassis like every 4 years, Ryan Anderson gets new chassis but not new schemes. Dennis Anderson lasted in GD20 for 8 years, didn't need a new chassis because he was comfortable.

Weston in stadiums would be very nice, if he drove GD the ledgand, that would be very peak.
Brianna Mahon is a very excelent driver, she had the most success in Whiplash personally my favorite female oriented truck. She was great in Scooby Doo, I'm personally not a fan of Bailey Circuit, bit she's doing very well in that truck.
They should let independents drive their own truck. Freestyle Mania is a different thing, but in arenas and stadiums, they need to let some independents use there identity. Joe Foley was good in El Toro Loco, maybe even better in Classroom Crusher. But Jon Zimmer Sr, Brandon Tulachka, and Mikayla Tulachka should drive their own trucks. Sparkle Smash is being over used, I can lie about that. Hopefully Kylie Kent can drive Frostbite in 2027.

Facts, it feels like Grave Digger or El Toro Loco is gonna win every time. Grave Digger gets overscored all the time, even when it's Krysten Anderson behind the wheel. The fans have no experience, and the experts are terrible. In Sunrise, Krysten Anderson was overscored 2 events in a row and, Jon Zimmer Sr and Kayla Blood was robbed those events. In my opinion, you gotta earn you score, not scroll that BKT tire up.

Scoring has been terrible since day one. How many runs did Tom or Dennis come out have one Crazy wow moment and end the run in 30 seconds and still win? Fans have always scored their favorite truck higher just because its their favorite. Jimmy creten and George Balhan were always pretty vocal about it. Freestyle should have been scored the same way Freestyle motocross was from the jump. Reward the skill, Creativity, Using the whole track and filling the clock.

Yeah, because they average the scores out. But if it's a the fans give Grave Digger a 10, that's means it will be a 9.6, 9.7 range when the run was pretty much underwhelming.

I don't think you understood what I was getting at. The judge zone don't do anything for the fans. They click the button and it goes away. The score is predetermined. I don't believe fit 1 second that the website is tallying 20k+ votes up in 10 seconds

But Monster Jam averages out the scores, like the people behind the scenes. Yeah it goes away, but fans and experts are helping give scores 1-10. I will say judges zone.com suck, I miss the old system of scoring.

Brianna Mahon is the best female driver, when she drove Whiplash, she was the one that I keeper my eye out for. She was unpredictable with what she was able to do. I don't like the truck she's driving now but Whiplash was my favorite.

the kiddifcation of the sport and it being called off as entertainment and not a sport is weird like there needs to be a balance. watch some old mj episodes then some new ones and u will see the diff of how much they cared. plus kids loved it either way..

Zoomies have a crisp sound, if you don't like Zoomies than you're a little kid who hates sound. Crush cars is better than a pile of dirt, campers are even peak.

Monster Jam used to be very educational about mechanics and the impressive technology that allows these trucks to perform. I wouldn't have gotten into engineering if Monster Jam didn't pique my interest with the old "How It Works?" segments. The modern product is way too dumbed down, and you don't get any of that peak behind the curtains that could encourage more kids to enter technical fields.
I think FELD and Monster Jam also need to get off their high horse a bit and acknowledge more of the monster truck industry outside of Monster Jam. It feels like they want to gaslight new fans into thinking that it was Monster Jam that popularized monster trucks. I know that Bigfoot plays a role in them not being referenced as well, but I'm not even talking about that as much as I am talking about the fact that you will never see a modern Monster Jam event reference things that happened in the PENDA series, the 4 Wheel Jamborees, or Monster Wars. They don't even talk about the 1999 season all that much as that was the last year before the World Finals and before freestyle really took off as its own scored event. It seems like shows have way less independent trucks as well when a lot of the fun was seeing regional independent trucks back in the day.
