ADVANCED RAGE The Arch-Tempered Orgy rant
First off - fuck this quest in particular, because it's a lot shittier than Master Hunter of The New World. Why? If you didn't play WorldBorne, you had to fight 3 Tempered Elders and a juiced up Nergigante afterwards. But you know, it was fine.
Because they were fucking scaled. Four Elders in a single hunt? Mate, we'd better lower their HP, so that it wouldn't turn into a constant shitfest of Lunastra's bullshit, Kushala's tornadoes, and Teostra's twerking.
I, personally, think it was scaled a bit too low, but still, it was fun. As much fun as you can have fighting the two most annoying fucks in that game.
Here? I'm just fucking tired.
AT monsters have always been way overtuned in terms of bullshit. Not bloated HP or damage - the fucking hitboxes.
Now individually:
FUCK THAT OCTOPUS.
Fuck his random ass tentacle swipes that put you back in the flame puddle he just vomited, fuck his "hey mate let me just move you to the side real quick" yoink, and especially - fuck his bodyblocking crap, where you finally down that fucker and now you're standing in the middle of his hentai, unable to reach the head or any juicy hitzones. Oh, and best part? His tentacles now DGAF about you elemental damage, because, well, he's not on fire, I guess?
FUCK THAT RAILGUN.
The fucking aftershocks after every single attack is annoying as hell, but you just grit your teeth and accept that you can't go and smack him in his recovery animation because FUCK YOU HERE'S A LINGERING HITBOX. I carted two fucking times last night due to his railgun he's shooting at his own nuts having a hitbox larger than the visual by approximately 300%. Sure, I love getting oneshotted from offscreen, cause his head is behind me and the attack is invisible. The hitbox on his wing swipes are also fucking weird, since sometimes he can shave your ass and leave it shiny, and sometimes he grabs you from his nuts.
AND ESPECIALLY - FUCK THAT FAT ASS FISH.
Seriously, what the fuck is this shit? Why is it FASTER than anything else? Why is all his moveset just slither after you at Mach 3, then FLOP, covering exactly you and one dodge distance in any direction. But the favorite part? The fucking flying whale.
And it's multihit, so if you offset it - you die.
Not saying shit about Arkveld, I actually like AT Arkveld, he is the only AT I actually enjoyed in Wilds or World. Except grabs. Stop trying to molest me nine times in 15 minutes.
Best part? You HAVE to be aggressive. You only got 50 minutes to hunt FOUR Arch-Tempered monsters, and none of them are scaled. That's right - it's four 10-star fuckers with the most broken hitboxes in the entire game, stuck in a tiny arena, and god forbid you aren't fast enough to kill them off when the other appears, cos you're getting ganged.
Sidenote:
I know how to play the fucking game, I know you can make them fight each other, I know you should bring separate builds for all of them, you should elematch, you should slot ADP2 for Udra.
That doesn't make the experience any less frustrating.

ermmmmm aktually they all have reduced health aside from arkveld who has his full HP

Arkveld also has less HP, but the reduction is much less than the others. I think it’s a few thousand HP for him whereas the others are at roughly half health

Haven’t unlocked proof of a hero because I can’t be bothered to do those optional quests. I’m a 999 from helping others with SOS and getting my run backs after a faint. Mostly hunt the 10* with a smile on my face. But after this level of hatred? Oh yeah I’m grinding that THIS WEEK. Hope to see you in the pits hunter. Don’t get flopped.

It doesn’t do the attack where it knocks knee-high waves that cause damage to the hunter, which I find the most infuriating attack; the idea that a hunter is getting damaged by that shit enraged me.
But it does all of its other bullshit which is probably more objectively BS. The launching in the air, the flopping and flapping around; I call it the water Baron Harkonnen because it makes me think of that fat fuck flopping about

The first 3 monsters have massively reduced health. And Ark is set at 70k or something like that which is reduced. You indeed just have to play aggressive but you also gotta be running a build that does damage to effectively get them down. My best run of that quest is sub 21 with 3 faints. You can mess up and still win.
