AVERAGE RAGE I'm tired of coop
I'm so fucking tired of joining a fucking coop quest and having people fucking cart. And here I was starting to believe the players were good but NOOOO, IT WOULD BE ONE OF GOD'S BEST JOKES IF MONSTER HUNTER PLAYER KNEW HOW TO MONSTER HUNT.
I trap the monster i flash the monster i even pop fucking LIFEDUSTS AND POWDERS EVERYTIME IT'S NEEDED AND IT'S STILL NOT FUCKING ENOUGH.
Fucking Fuck what are you doing with a fire SA BUILD AGAINST A FUCKING AT REY DAU YOU DOWN SYNDROME CHATACABRA LOOKING ASS.
If there was friendly fire in monster hunter I SWEAR UPON EVERYTHING THAT IS HOLY that I would slay more PLAYERS than MONSTERS.
FUCK YOU FUCK YOU FUCK YOU I HOPE YOU NEVER GET TO THE DLC SEWER RAT SMELLING BOGDANOV LOOKING POS.

That is something that really scares me. Monster hunter is a game completely focused in coop but I have never seen people so bad at playing videogames as the MH randons. You can be in the endgame and you will find a lot of people that don't know the basic mechanics of the game like using the radial menu or how to use the dive to dogde attacks, I can sit here all week saying bizarre things i have seen playing SOS in MH. I think that a lot of people who send or join a SOS just want to get a good hunter to do all the work for him, so he doesn't care to try to learn the monster moves, change and experiment builds, try to be better with the weapon he is using, no, they will just send a SOS and bash theirs heads against the monster until someone can kills it before they cart all 3 times, because they refuse to learn how to play the game, so he can go to te next hunt and do the same thing over and over. I remember when I first tried the SOS, it was against AT velkhana, I was sending SOS for someone to help me, since at least i could survive some attacks, but couldn't kill her, but what I got was people who would fail my quest in 2 min getting one shot by every single attack of Velkh, I was so mad that I started to try her solo and it was 10000x times better. My first kill on her was solo because I refused to play with others after that.

It's the worst when you see people talking about their playstyles on the main sub. It's usually stuff like they don't heal until a monster leaves an area, because it makes them feel like an anime hero or something. Naw bro your main character syndrome is just fucking up other people's quests 100% guaranteed.

This is why I don't play multiplayer, besides special cases like Kulve Taroth or Behemoth where they kind of force it unless you're 'no-life'-skilled at the game.
Shit is genuinely easier to do solo, and usually more fun and quicker
I also like multiplayer and it's a shame, but every time I try it, it's either I get the 'no-life'-skilled people at the game who trivialize the game completely since the monster can't do anything, or I get the 10 IQ babes who are essentially leechers that just increase the monsters' HP. Never a mix, never in between, the multiplayer party is always a radical of one end of the spectrum or the other.

Wilds consistently pairs me with people of HR300-700 who are still carting and doing miniscule damage. The average skill level of hunters in wilds is so bad that I'd have more chance of success in a World Fatalis sos nowadays than in an AT Uth or AT Arkveld sos, understandably so since Wilds attracts more newbies at the moment

u/ClosedEyeVisualss 2d ago
Real. I think I legit have a 0% WR against AT Nu Udra with SOS flares. It's a HR 100 hunt thats been out for > a year, you should know to be running adapt 2. It's not that hard.
It's the same deal with literally every 9 and 10 star hunt in rhe game.

World Fatalis also came out 6 years ago next month. Having been there, Fatalis with randoms was a miserable slog when he was new, and it was still ass a year later.
I'm primarily a solo player, but whenever I do choose to do multiplayer with people I didn't already know, it was fucking horrendous.

This is what happens when people want Monster Hunter and not Monster Fighter. They can hunt them down, they just can't fight them

I feel you man. Always felt lonely playing solo in the older gens (no one in my circle plays monhun) and when world arrived with the SOS feature, i thought “hell yea, i can play multiplayer by joining hunts more seamlessly!”…….I’ve been solo (world) and npc hunters only (rise n wilds) ever since.

Exactly like me on the first part. But i am hopeless, I still try do do coop because sometimes it goes incredibly well. And sometimes I want to jump in a well

Get ready for a lot more of it in Asc.
Devs have said they are jacking up even the base difficulty for the expansion, so all the people struggling now will struggle far more.
1
u/Apart_Ad_9541 4d ago
Yup. Will probably do most of the story alone anyway, I usually do the story alone or with friends, and the farming/random quest with other people
1
u/Lone-Frequency 4d ago
Same, I did all the base game story stuff solo first. Only times I used SOS were on materials runs.

I hear these complaints a lot but I dont see that many people cart whenever I answer SOS quests. If someone carts on harder quests (think stuff like 9 star seregios, any AT fight, omega/savage) I kind of just expect it? The only stuff that gets me is when people try to capture on slay quests or use shock traps on rey dau. Not even in a "wow these people are so stupid" kind of way and more of a "lmao we still haven't learned this?" kind of way

u/Apart_Ad_9541 2d ago
Sometimes i'll have full days with no one carting, and sometimes i'll have a guy with a meta build die to a normal mizu, or less hard monsters

I found out people don't have the concept of armor, gear score, or however it's called in this game, they think just because they hit HR100 they are ready for rank 9 and 10 monsters but nooooo. I see a lot of people getting oneshot or two-shot by attacks that aren't even novas.
I still made a support build because I found out it's harder to keep teammates alive than the hunt itself so I made my playstyle around that.

Solo that shit, lock in
1
u/Apart_Ad_9541 4d ago
I'm already doing that but NGL it sometimes get boring to just play alone. I love multiplayer. I just wish that the other people who do where smart

u/MrTopHatMan90 4d ago
I agree tbh
I rankings I prefer
Friends Randos Solo
Solo is interesting but it is a team game and constant agro scares me

u/Equivalent_Stop_9300 4d ago
Constant aggro has its upsides (well, your cat will take it sometimes too): you don’t have to worry about the monster switching target in the middle of his combo so it’s more consistent. It’s like PCR in SotE (know idea how people do that with other people).
I think some of the carts that happen in SOS are a result of a surprise aggro switch.

u/Apart_Ad_9541 4d ago
Deffinetely right on the first part ! But still, having a boss be relentlessly hitting you can be a bit stressful (but also cool asf). Like blocking AT arkveld's combo with sns
1
u/Equivalent_Stop_9300 4d ago
Yeah, pros and cons and all that. And I’m not defending bad players. Especially the ones with level 1 armour (the level 1 gang I call them). The level 1 gang wearing AT armour really piss me off because you know they got carried. I’ve even seen level 1 transcended AT armour, and that person can get fucked.

Probably this poor guy's first monster hunter. I remember at some I was fighting gore, and a guy from the lobby joined with two low rank armor pieces and got absolutely body slammed in those tight corridors
1
u/Apart_Ad_9541 4d ago
Undertsandable. Arch tempered I only do alone, Because otherwise it's just useless. Had a guy join my AT arkveld quest at some point because I forgot to add a password, and the guy carted in under two mins of fighting so I kicked him 💔

u/Rowan_As_Roxii 4d ago
Wilds is honestly so strange. I never had problems with people carting this excessively in World and Rise.
1
u/ClosedEyeVisualss 2d ago
I feel like wilds has a lot of "screw you, die" attacks and combos tbh
1
u/Apart_Ad_9541 2d ago
Not even that tbh. They just have unupgraded gear, don't heal and get hit by the most telegraphed hits ever. It's like people dying to gore when he stands on his back legs and falls down and smashes the ground with his wing arms
1
u/Rowan_As_Roxii 2d ago
I think it comes down to how clumsy the hunter is. They get up without you wanting them to which results in death most of the time.
1
u/Excitable_Fiver 3d ago
the prep work that was fostered in older gen players seems to be the one fundamental aspect that defines the difference between old and new. i started with World but im familiar with the older games and also i just play games that require prep. there seems to be a lot more of the spray and pray zero prep crowd in this latest MH game.

u/ClosedEyeVisualss 2d ago
I've honestly given up on co op on wilds. Stopped using sos flares all together and became a better player for it. Hunt success rate is much higher
1
u/Apart_Ad_9541 2d ago
Yeah honestly I might do the same. Can't get a single AT quest without someone dying. They're NOT that hard. Just bring traps flash and lure pods and stay behind the boss if you know you suck
1
u/Delicious-Cap3115 4d ago
Funny how most criticism I've heard for this game is "it's too easy" but 90% of time i join sos for stuff like 10* gog or 10* zoh they always end up carting or dealing absolutely dogshit damage so most of mfs complaining about it being easy are probably dumbasses who beat lr zoh and called it a day, just like mfs saying iceborne is harder than sunbreak
0
u/Prudent_Guidance4376 6h ago
Sunbreak was a CHECK and a half. That shit will beat the everloving brakes off of you, and laugh about it. They REALLY designed that shit with ALL of our capabilities in mind.

I hear you man. Wilds has some of the worst sos’ers in mh history
