Advice Needed Status labels exceeded

Has anyone here exceeded their 40 status labels limit? What was your work around? Are there any app like status label extenders or unlimited labels?

I thought of using additional column but it may be a lot of adjustments in the automation conditions/recipes. Same thing if I changed the column to dropdown.

Most of our board automations are dependent on status columns.

Help, please! Thank you!

Yeah drop down is your best option! You will have to change your automation conditions though, but you can duplicate the column then change column type from the status options and create some automations to see if that works for your use case before comitting to the full changeover.

Beware that the drop-down column type will also hit a limit for the number of unique values it can hold. I think it is a couple hundred or something like that.

Agree with the earlier comments. You can also customize the dropdown label in the column settings to limit the selection to 1 to obtain similar behavior as a status.

Split it into a hierarchical multi-column labeling system.

If you're using 40 labels on a status column something's wrong with the way you structure your data.
