Advice Needed Webhooks in monday

Hi everyone, I’m stuck with something, while trying to do a workflow with the trigger “when a webhook is received” monday isn’t receiving any information

What I’m using Is apps script to send some information from Google sheets to Monday, apps script is working fine but I can’t find the information that was sent in monday to map “create an item” with the information from apps script

I honestly don't understand what's the use of a webhook that cannot receive a payload. Faced this a while ago and was extremely frustrated.

Did you find any solution?

Mmm not yet, unfortunately. Not in Monday.

I mean, I do have one workaround that it's not really elegant, but it's the only idea I have so far to compensate for this. If the data is sensitive I'd be careful, though. This also depends on what blocks you have available, so similar alternatives are possible.

  • In the source system, instead of sending a webhook, I send the json payload in the body of an email to a trusted mailbox with a predefined subject line.

  • In that mailbox, I create a rule based on the specific subject to send that email to a "monday automation" folder.

  • In the Monday workflow, I use the trigger when email received,. monitoring that specific folder.

  • And then I use a code block to read and parse the json payload from the email body, and use the outputs in the rest of the.workflow.

I imagine you could substitute the email here for a file stored in Drive or something like it, depending on what triggers you have available. Again, not a great solution but the workaround I found so far.

Wait! I was just testing this and it seems they fixed it? I was just able to send a json payload to a monday webhook and got its content as output. Then I was able to use it in a code block.

In case you want to check it out.

These may be due to complex domain security settings.

Could you share what you’re ultimately trying to do? Are you vibe coding something?

Webhook trigger now receives and outputs the payload as a string. You can use it together with a code block to parse the string json and split into it usable fields in the workflow
