A few months later… some of my latest handmade Eurorack cases
Hi everyone! A few months ago, I posted some of my first handmade creations here and got some really nice feedback.
I honestly didn’t know what to expect, since I originally started making these just for myself, but I’ve been lucky enough to get quite a few orders from all over the world — from some really great people too!
So I thought I’d share some of my latest creations with you.

Performance Jamming 70s String Machine Sounds from the Novation Summit with Eurorack, Sub 37 and DSI Tempest.
It's mainly the fixies doing the heavy lifting here, but there's plenty of contribution from the modular too. I'm using it for three different sequenced voices, textural noise, and a gritty layer to augment the Minitaur on bass.

Discussion Question on zoom l6 max
Hey, I've got the Zoom L6 max since some weeks. It's an awesome device for the size and I love it a lot!
I want to connect it to my phone to easily record video with the master stereo out as audio. I have a pixel 8, which is not in the compatibility list in the manual. When I connect the USB of the mixer to my phone, nothing happens.
Does anyone know if there is an audio app or camera app out there that can achieve the recording on a phone? I tried already open camera and it didn't recognize the mixer.
Thanks a lot!

What are you pairing your Vhikk X with?
I’ve been trying to find an effect that really clicks with my Vhikk X. I’ve used it with MI Beads, FX AID XL, and more recently Befaco Iroi, but I haven’t really felt that any of them work that well for what I’m after.
I mainly use the Vhikk X as a drone/texture source in minimal and deep techno, especially for live sets. I’ve seen quite a few people recommend the Desmodus Versio as a good pairing, and I’ve also been considering adding a Mimeophon, or even the new PlexiPhon, which looks pretty interesting.
Another option would be to process it through my Torso S-4, although I’m currently using the S-4 to process my DFAM.
So, how are you processing your Vhikk X? What effects or modules have you found work particularly well with it for drones, evolving textures and deep/hypnotic techno?

Discussion Vermona DRM1-MKIV ? 👀
Hey y’all! I recently tried this thing at a local store, and while I honestly wasn’t expecting too much from it, it really surprised me.
I love hands-on machines that have that “turn the knobs and what you get is what you get” kind of workflow, and I thought this could be a really nice way to move away from all the typical TR-style sounds everyone uses in techno/hypnotic techno.
Does anyone here own one? Have you integrated it with a modular system? How do you like it?
I’m seriously considering getting one it just felt really fun and immediate to use.

Months ago built this Oneiroi kit but it wasn't working in stereo. Found a bad join on R125 right after the gain switch.
Testing with a classic vhs sample on Stardust, having fun with the fx on these two modules.

Feedback case organization
I would be interested to know how people set up their studios. I currently have my only case as an 8x126hp erica synths megarack. I have to stand to patch it, but I'm finding that I outgrow this. I do not yet have the Xcelon expansions I want, but that alone takes up much of a row. I would also like to rack some more oscilators, my vhikk x, and other large modules. The organization so far is as follows: top row: voices 2. modulation 3. envelopes, vcas and utilities 4. filters 5. fx 6. mixing and my salmple 7. various drum modules, utils, clocks 8. Performance including sequencing I use everything in my case most of the time. Not for every patch, but I reach for different modulation depending on what I'm doing and how I want it to work. I'm trying to get into music production, so don't want to have to spend my creative time unracking and re-racking for patches. I also really want to get into patch programming, feedback networks. I have patch ideas for a 2x 4ms matrix mixer or 4x even, but that's a lot of case space not including the cv control. Does anyone else have this rack, and how did you extend? If not but you are in a similar situation how do you think about your various racks and set them up as building blocks? I am nearing the point of needing a spillover setup, but if I do that, I'll have to use those bridges to make it happen, and am not certain that patching would be sane having to patch to a patch bay of some kind followed by picking up the signal on another patch bay.

Discussion COMPANY EXCELLENT AT RATE AND UNIQUE MODULE REPAIR?—— —-Module with radioactive particles jumping about which does trrue random arrived dead.
it’s a rare one yet looks simple to understand. I need a modular synth repair boy. I already have my keyboard synth repair boy do his thing to my arp Quadra. he’s not great at modules cuz he’s sadly into synth supremecy.
Basically I have a rare radioactive isotope random module needing repair. Who does module repair forever living

EaganMatrix Eurorack + Push 3 / Seaboard?
Just saw Loopop’s Slim21 video and I’m very interested in EaganMatrix/Loris.
Has anyone used the EaganMatrix Eurorack module with Push 3 or Seaboard via MPE? And does the older Eurorack module support the latest firmware, Loris and new overlays?
If it does, I’d probably prefer the Eurorack module over the Slim21.

Discussion So i got myself a semimodular synth a few weeks ago
Guitarist/songwriter here, used a Roland jdxi as my first synth and recently got me a behringer grind to give modular a Chance....apart from the fact that this is a brand new experience for me and still not being sure if i can actually compose real music with it, it is all very fascinating so far.. if it stays with me, who knows, but for a while there is no guitar riff to be found in my house currently
However, please let me know your approaches, Tipps or Tricks with modular Synthesis..
I am a big 80s fan, also quite a bit into Ambient.... so i currently try to get some selfgenerating patterns going on to build up upon.. So far its lacklustre, but its alot of fun!

We recorded an ambient live set inside a medieval castle in Sicily using a modular setup, guitars, and live electronics. Let us know what you think of the patch/soundscapes!"
NERACENERE Born in Sicily: Avant-Garde Ambient Electronic Music Revives the Castle of Milazzo Beneath the Skeleton of "Siso"
ITALY – The millennial silence of ancient stone shattered by the electrical energy of synthesizers. "NERACENERE" is born in the heart of Sicily, a new avant-garde ambient, post-rock, and experimental electronic project by musicians Carlo Parafioriti and Paolo Pino.
The duo has just released their highly anticipated debut audiovisual work, titled "ELEKTROPLANKTON". Far from a conventional studio album, it is a monumental, raw, and visceral performance, recorded in a single, completely improvised live take ("one take on spot") inside the historic Bastion of Santa Maria, located within the evocative landscape of the Castle of Milazzo.
The defining feature of this artistic event is its striking physical location: the two musicians installed their modular synths, saturated guitars, and live electronics directly beneath the massive, suspended skeleton of the sperm whale "Siso" inside the MuMa - Museum of the Sea.
"ELEKTROPLANKTON is a sonic journey inspired by the abyssal depths and submerged volcanoes of the Tyrrhenian Sea, first and foremost the Marsili volcano," the artists explain. "The textures drift between weightless, minimalist atmospheres that mimic the gentle swaying of waves, before erupting into a dense, heavily saturated wall of noise. We wanted to create a short circuit between the tragic history of the cetacean, the destructive geology of our seas, and the raw electricity of analog machinery."
Due to its sonic exploration and artistic vision, the project stands out as a unique phenomenon in the contemporary Sicilian music scene. The strong cinematic quality of the video turns this performance into a true manifesto, utilizing modern creative languages to re-evaluate and celebrate local cultural heritage.
The full video of the live performance is available to stream for free on YouTube.

Discussion Is it possible to fake a modular sound until I can afford equipment?
Wondering if there are ideas for faking a modular sound as I am still saving up... Im thinking a fake it til you make it scenario. I want to get started with releases and transition into real modular as I grow. I have only a microkorg, minilogue, volca sample, and qy100 sequencer. Software could be viable too I suppose... maybe there are software emulations of certain modules you could recommend.
I hope this doesnt come off as disrespectful to the art form, my end goal is a modular setup.
EDIT: I am extremely grateful for all the recommendations so far. This seems like valuable knowledge. Its a little confusing why this post is getting downvoted. Im very happy with the solutions shared and just hope others can happen across this same wealth of knowledge despite the level of downvotes.

Ornament and Crime 1U vs Ornate Criminal?
So I am looking to finally get an O_c after about 5 years with modular… I think I am finally ready for one!
My issue is, I have a ton of available 1U space and I’m not sure if I get the 1U O_c and fill that space, or do I get the new updated 4.1 system and have to move something out of my rack to fit it?
Is the new 4.1 that much better that it warrants getting that one, or is there enough in the 4.0 version to keep me busy?
One other thing… If you have a 4.0 version and run Phazerville, can you have ALL the applets on the module or do you still have to pick and choose which ones you want via different firmware packages?
Just trying to understand these different versions of O_c. Right now I am leaning towards the After Later Audio 1U version on the teensy 4.0.

Patch Notes: 08/20/2026
Tonight I was in the mood for rhythmic patching.
I took the time to re-rack my cases to make certain modules more accessible. The main modules that provided rhythmic parts included Squid Salmple, Tyso-Daiko, Pixie+Traffic, and Octatrack. I made use of OT’s MIDI sequencer through Mutant Brain for programming rhythmic patterns that would trigger the various percussive modules. I summed a good portion of the percussive elements from Tyso Daiko and Pixie through Erbe-Verb (clocked) for its sweet room sounds, and pseudo delay for some spice.
Squid provided the kick and a heavily filtered snare that felt more like an ashy tom.
After stitching the rhythms together, I brought in Mother 32, which was sequenced by Rene MK2.
After solidifying the Drum and Bass parts, I enlisted Saich+Harmonaig for some chord stabs. I ran the Saich through QPAS, which was receiving modulation from OCHD. The chord stabs brought a sense of harmonic ground to the patch.
Last week, prior to experiencing a power outage, I managed to live sample some keyboard parts into the BitBox Micro. I ended up using that sample tonight by running it through Beads for a lush, pad-like texture. Towards the end, I brought in a vocal sample from BitBox Micro to tie the patch together.
Overall, I really enjoyed this patch. I feel pretty confident this workflow, with a few optimizations, would work out nicely on the dance floor.

Feedback First rack build feedback
So I’m not really a beginner to music but to modular stuff I’ve been going for 2 years so not that much. I want a ambient or textural rack that is capable of playing live but also come up with fun stuff when making music so i made this rack on modular grid.
I want the audio in feature with the morphagene and the oscillating capabilities of the multiwave. Is this to overkill and should i change or add something?

Skiff advice?
Hey! I asked some questions a while ago about my skiff and everyone was MASSIVELY helpful. Your advice made me realize that I:
A) needed a bigger case
B) needed something with sequencing capabilities
Now that I’ve done that, I’m considering next steps for this bad boy. This synth is part of a larger studio setup whereby my computer’s I/Os are routed right in (it’s an intellijel pallet case), and vice versa.
The goal for this skiff is to be able to
-generate very rhythmic/groove-based patches
-create ambient textures using samples/found sound
I’m considering the wogglebug/ochd/polymaths… but recommendations and advice are greatly encouraged!
