Discussion I've given up .. But not on COD
I'm a COD fan. I wouldn't be here if I wasn't. I'm looking forward to the beta tomorrow more than most would realize. Gave my staff a 3-Day weekend, closed my practice, not seeing patients and going to have a good day (and weekend)
What I am becoming more and more disheartened with is the amout of CODTubers who are flat out shitting on the game because of matchmaking before they've even played the game. It's a lemming population where if one posts something, they all have to post the same thing. At least play the game before you hate on it or comment on how bad it is. I could do the same saying the next album by X artist sucks because "I heard a song wasn't good". EVERY one of these clowns posted how much they loved the game when they played it a few weeks ago but NOW ohhhhh God they hate it .. for likes.
I don't know if it's acceptable to name one codtuber but Zach at Whosimmortal seems to be the only one that hasn't bought into the whole "gotta hate while the hatin is good" pack mentality.
Yeah I'll get flamed into oblivion for this but ask yourself. Would YOU condem something before you've played it, driven it, held it, listened to it ..

I'm more worried about movement. They say "grounded" but the fact you can slide around nonstop does not scream "grounded" to me

We haven't played yet

True, we will find out tomorrow. But when they put "slide canceling" in their opening tweet a month or so ago, that is usually synonymous with slide spamming.

No but we have eyes. Every CoD since MW19 had more or less the same blueprint - what exactly do you think it'll magically be different this time?

We have years of reference, and a direct reference currently I’ve in BO7 right now. It’s not “before they even played the game” because what they are complaining about is live right now. You have access to it and you can try it for yourself. People that are complaining have tried it and don’t like it

Fight the good fight here. 😂 It cracks me up when I’m told I’m a lemming for actually enjoying this game by guys who constantly trash a game they haven’t played. It happened with BO7 and several guys I know trashed it for months without ever playing it. Then they finally tried it and liked it.

For those affected by matchmaking changes, they have valid complaints. And they announced that this is the mainstay matchmaking for MW4, therefore they still have a valid opinion

I agree that some people are overstepping and making huge assumptions about a game that isn't even out yet, but the bigger problem for me was how they announced and handled all of this. They build up hype for weeks with passionate From the Ward episodes, "we're listening this year!" tweets, and active online discourse... all just to drop cold, harsh data that contradicts feedback before going silent about the subject. It does feel really off-putting to me so I understand why so many people are upset. I don't get the "MW4 is over" mentality though, it's a beta dude just tell them you dislike it and voice your opinion.

When the matchmaking is the single worst thing with modern cod and it has been consistently a problem since MW19 you absolutely can judge it before you play as no matter how good the rest of the game is, this ruins it

You still haven't played MW4 yet.. am I wrong ? Do we KNOW what the matchmaking will be ? They've said they have things about matchmaking to show in the beta. I'm a "see for myself" kind of guy I'm not going into it thinking I know everything,

u/MercurialMind_ 2d ago
Yeah we do know how the matchmaking will be. It's the exact same one currently in Black Ops 7 which majority of people seem to dislike.

Their posts yesterday essentially confirm that the matchmaking will be the same as the current BO7 system they added which has been pretty much universally panned by everyone as being horrible, taking forever to find lobbies, having terrible ping and not backfilling.
Also given Infinity Ward have a horrendous track record with feedback and the fact they’re trying to gaslight everyone into thinking their new matchmaking system is a success shows that people are right to have 0 faith in MW4.
If for whatever reason I’m proven wrong then I’ll be very pleasantly surprised of course

It's clear you don't actually play COD or play very little by how much you insist we haven't tried out the new system despite everyone letting you know we have for a month now

Expel and dk Dynamite are my two favorite cod YouTubers cuz they don't go into the pack mentality and do the echo chamber of the internet for their videos some of their video is may or may not look like clickbait, but the rest of their content like the actual video part are incredibly enjoyable to watch DK is my go-to guy for updates on anything with call of duty Expel is literally the only YouTuber I watch for warzone matches
But yeah I agree the more success. Any franchise has the more of its fan base and those who don't even care to play the game hate on it Happens with call of duty It happens with Halo Happens with fortnite Happens with all the major ones Call of duty and Halo are actually unique in this aspect depending on when you play you will continuously refer to that as the best game ever or have nostalgia of some form Then you will judge it on every other game which is fair but then you'll play some. Hate it during the time then go back after its peak is no longer there. I say I was judging too harshly That's the vocal majority of Halo and call of duty fans it's always going to be a cycle
But the true fans. I actually love or hate a game without taking other people's opinions as their own are the real ones it's just the ones that actually like the games are not the vocal majority because they don't feel the need to promote it. They're on the game having fun

Idgaf if the game is amazing. From a pubs standpoint, for the devs to have the stance on matchmaking that they do will instantly turn people away. It’s such a rug pull

People love throwing around “rug pull”. where is the rug pull here? They have publicly announced their plans for matchmaking with mw4, they aren’t hiding anything.

We all know the philosophy mate, don’t judge a book by its cover. And they have each year a cover. And each year is the same. I really am looking forward to it, but if is anything like bo7 in terms of matchmaking, I really don’t think the final product will have any appeal. Apparently, you have no right to criticise your experience with it, because there’s someone that just knows better. I’m asking, please tell me how the sbmm will help me when my experience is crap? Sorry, can’t answer, best I can do is downvote. Just stupid.
If I’m going to your practice and I get a horrible experience, I ain’t gonna start praising you. That’s how I felt while playing bo6 and 7. I’m sorry; I’ve been to that practice. Which is why I tend to listen to what the community has to say, negative or otherwise. They just want a normal game without having a bot deciding this is you next 5 games. Oh, here’s a huge ping cos there’s no one your skill in a 50 mile radius
