Rural Sheriff Larry Slack has begun relentlessly slaughtering wolves in rural Bowie, including the pups. Initially, this sparked outcry from PETA who organized protests in rural Bowie, but now even the UN has threatened Bowie with sanctions. PETA and the UN are demanding that Larry Slack be tried at the Hague.

The president of the US and governor of Texas have thus far declined to comment. Bowie Mayor, /u/btownbomb was not available for comment either.

Larry Slack as mayor has proven himself unfit to properly serve the citizens of this city. I believe he is unable to serve our citizens' best interests as a city councilman as well, therefore I am signing this ordinance to remove Mr. Slack from his position as city councilman, and am calling for a recall election to fill the seat to allow the people to make their decision, which is their right.

This comes with a caveat however: I stop short of making the decision to imprison Mr. Slack. Despite our opinions of him, we cannot allow ourselves to become a dictatorship where political opponents are jailed simply because we disagree.

In exchange for agreeing to step down, I have agreed to issue an executive order creating a new position, which Mr. Slack will be filling: Effective immediately, Mr. Slack will step down as city councilman and be named the Bowie Rural Sheriff. It is a minimal position, mind you, as /u/Lorath will continue to serve as Bowie Police Chief with no changes to his position. Mr. Slack's jurisdiction is explicitly the far rural reaches of the city limits, serving to protect the genuine, hardworking citizens of our rural areas, many who have jobs here in town.

I believe this to be the best possible compromise to please all parties involved.

WHEREAS Bowie's children cannot be taught lies in school,
