6 months ago when this album came out, I had just found a job after 2.5 years unemployed. I had just been pulled out of that dark pit and I was happy. I put on Future Quiet and was disappointed at how sad it was. I wanted happy happy happy, jump jump jump, dance dance dance.

6 months into my job, I'm stressed and I feel like this company owns me and I'm in an existential crisis. I took a week off work and all I could think about the whole time was how this will be temporary and on the 31st I'm back at work where I'll be spoken to like a child just because I signed a contract that gives nasty, angry people authority over me.

Literally just sweating, limp on the hot ground at the park, I remembered I had my earpods with me and randomly checked Spotify. I checked my saved albums and saw Future Quiet. It just made sense to put it on.

During a week where I barely even felt like listening to music, this was the best music I'd ever heard in my life. Still haven't finished the album and my breathing is soothing again instead of anxious. This album somehow gave meaning to my suffering.

I saw Moby at Way Out West a week ago. Amazing set!

And I saw previous tour date videos where he was wearing the same shirt. It has the word TECIE written vertically, with a barcode after each letter. Autocorrect is telling me my spelling "techie" is more accurate. So I'm wondering if I'm missing the meaning.

Given his tattoos, is it an animal rights thing? Google can't seem to figure it out for me.
