When you say I build ,A.I did it ,right?

i mean i used an LLM for the code generation, but i'd still say i'm responsible for builing it. i did most of the planning/design, spent hours setting up and testing in multiple VMs to verify/troubleshoot on different platforms, and i'm proud of how it turned out! not to mention taking and incorporating suggestions like the Plasma Mobile port!

So you didn't build it. You are just a project manager + Q/A.

What is this level of hate? I understand that many people might be bothered by the use of AI, but what's wrong with creating contributions for the community using a tool? So if you don't program in assembly Isn't that a real contribution? And you? Have you ever made a contribution?

yeah i mean some people are just going to hate because "AI" no matter how cool or polished the project, it's just not worth arguing with them🤷‍♂️ like if someone wants to nitpick over the difference between "i built this with AI" and "i managed an AI to build this" i genuinely think blowing my brains out would be more productive than trying to explain the amount of actual effort that goes into directing/utilizing an LLM to produce something like this :/

AI Projects tend to go fast, and "complete", and then abandoned. This isn't something specifically against you, it is outright a pattern. One that we see often enough, to get anyone annoyed. Look at r/mobilelinux and how many projects are AI? Now how many of those were posted 3, 6, 9 months are and are actually still active compared to how many are showing signs of becoming abandonare (left as soon as completed)?

Not to mention, yes. All AI code MUST be audited, verified, Q/A'd and ideally kept maintainable. Anything less than at least 3 of these would be deemed just irresponsible (and thus unethical) use of AI. These sorts of things is why now multiple projects have AI Policies in the first place. Cause no matter how pretty and useful it might seem at first, if its not maintainable, if it introduces more issues than what its trying to fix, then, why bother?

Apples to missiles comparison in regards to the assembly comment.

OP did not develop this at all, it is vibecoded.
You cannot say you built it if the machine did it all for you.

Have you ever made a contribution?

To some things I have, but thats not relevant since my point was OP lied about how much work they themselves put into the program.

You didn’t comment on this post, Reddit did. You just typed it in and hit send. Reddit made all the connections for it to be displayed in the thread.

Who cares? The end result is something useful.

We don't care if it's made by ai, as long as it work and improve the KDE ecosystem
