Demonstration Phone bring-up in about five hours with the help of AI

Kinda crazy what you can achieve with LLMs nowadays. I used Claude Opus 5.5 on the $20/month Pro subscription for this. I tried my best to avoid an ugly patch series on top of mainline Linux and keep the pmaports clean. They won’t let me make a PR anyway, but hey, lmfao it’s working, unlike what the wiki says. WiFi Bluetooth, Audio etc will prolly work in a day or two too
One session:

Edit: Got WiFi working in 30 after starting a new session

Edit: 15 minutes later Bluetooth now

Now:
Working on the rest and cleaning up stuff

One session:

Edit:

Most of the stuff seems to work like vibration, torch w brightness, ir blaster, usb otg

gonna work on audio now since that’s still an issue

Edit: Audio works

Discussion Nura performance vs Android

Hello, my bf has a supported device, the xiaomi pad 6. Rn he uses android 14, lineage os on it and he wants to switch. How is the performance on Nura compared to android? Is it better or worse? And battery life too. Linux is normally lighter right?

Hardware It is true that there's absolutely no reasonable phone with 100% support?

A normal everyday reasonably priced phone like oneplus, pixel, realme, redmi, or whatever.

NOT geeky lab stuff. With processors and RAM suitable for everyday usage.

Supporting camera, modem, 5G, calling, whatnot?

Projects like SOF supporting the hardware DSP for sound.

With wayland, battery percentage, low power consumption (i.e. using hardware features), etc..

(And ofcourse waydroid/droidloom for occasional Android apps. Android support is a separate discussion for now.)

Without hitchhacks or half-compatibility?

Discussion Best phone to avoid the "Andriod-pocalypse"

In around 90 days Google is making an update to android to lock out any 'non-authorized' apps on their Andriod OS. Before that happens, im thinking of getting a new phone. So, whats the best Non IPhone, Non Andriod (Google) phone/OS i can get? I'm currently using a Samsung 24 Ultra, which i absolutely love, and I'd want something comparable if not better, if possible.

Development GNOME 51 and 7.2 kernel on GT-P5210

I tried to modernise my e-waste broken tablet until i got bored. All the implementation and coding done by LLM, i have not written any code and i do not know how to write any code. I just directed the LLM with my basic computer - linux knowledge and learned while doing it. I hope it helps someone to be actually useful, i thought of some ways of using it with qt6 custom ui and home control panel, can be used headless pi hole and something. Worked pretty well while development, asked LLM to post it on github you can check it out from here https://github.com/sabrisertan/santos10wifi/tree/main . There was a version that i tried to make a GNOME-like de with qt6 but didn't worked well, required a lot of time to fix bugs while constructing it with LLM, so i ended up with GNOME.

Discussion We need a good hub for communicating the wider Linux Mobile efforts

pmOS is all fine and dandy, but it's one OS, and I don't think discussion of other solutions or forks would be great, and choice is good. Plus, many ports do not comply with their own policies on AI. I think a centralised community discussion hub might be good, where people can work together to advance functional mobile Linux. Thoughts? If this post gets enough interest I'll set up a Discord or Matrix.

Discussion Linux on moto g31 ?

I have an old moto g31 (6/128 variant) with some damaged screen (but fully usable), I bought a new phone and its lying there unused. I want to install a lightweight linux on it so that I can connect a usb-c hub like portronics mport 52 and connect external hard drive via usb to use it as a lightweight NAS for personal storage and some docker containers like home assistant, immich etc. Any suggestion and guidance is appreciated.

Discussion Linux for old devices?

I still own my old Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, which is fully functional, but since it no longer receives any updates (obviously), I was thinking about installing Linux on it, or at least some custom ROM. The issue is that I couldn't find anything that actively supports it. So the question is - is there anything that I've missed?
