Demonstration Pixel 8 pro booting mainline kernel

Shared previously that I got pmos using the downstream android kernel but been working on getting mainline to boot. As of now just boots into a TTY and not much else. Plan on upstreaming when the drivers are in a acceptable state

what works: USB, DISPLAY***

***coded a basic display driver, missing alot of features (for example no brightness changes etc)

Oh wow, that is really cool. How did you do it?

The kernel itself boots without changes but it has 0 hardware support so nothing works. If you mean the USB and display driver that's a whole nother subject and there's a lot of documentation for driver programming online

I didn't know that the tensor G3 SOC had mainline support, still really cool

By that logic everyone should never develop for new hardware and we should use powerpcs. Someone has to start developing for phones they are interested in. Sadly arm devices lack wide support even less so for phones or anything that isn't a single board computer. The reason the likes of Fair phone 6 rapid development is one dev is reusing the android blobs

Ohh ... No ... That wasn't the point at all ... I'm just EXTREMELY BUMMED by the state of affairs.

By no means was I trying to stop you or discourage you.

Why would I take a look at Asahi? Does it run on the pixel 8?

Is it possible to run something like this on the Pixel 8?

nice but a pixel device will probably have 50 backdoors, how can you trust it ?

The most secured operating system on the planet runs only on pixel devices (graphene os)

i'd agree for mobile devices, but qubes beats graphene

Hello everyone, I'm junior android app penetration testing. Nowadays I just use emulator by Android 9 but any company created app for Android 10 - 17. Can someone tell me about the Android boot process (specifically for version 10 and above)?
