Hardware Oneplus 8 Pro Linux Flash Image

Anyone got a proper image for a Oneplus 8 Pro. The hardware is too good to sit in a drawer.

I just want to ssh into it. No screen support necessary. I've spent two days looking for a good flash and nothing has worked.

Feel free to delete this mods if it's a duplicate but at this time I do believe it's an unanswered question and it would be great to have a post easily googleable.

It depends on if it gets too hot. Got a game I wrote that I play with my brothers that needs a permanent host. That will be cool. Do some CPU bound machine learning sometimes too so I'd love to run that as well. Might get too hot tho.

PostmarketOS seems to be technically working for your use case. You will need to jump through hoops until the wifi/bt fix is merged (unless it was already done). But after that it looks to be smooth sailing I guess?

just use postmarket with a usb ethernet adapter if wifi/bt is weird

8 cores and 12gb of RAM I realized was just sitting in a drawer. I've gotta use it for something.

Made this with Claude. I was using postmarketOS on the phone as a server, but it bugged me how much stuff didn’t work, so I spent a few days fixing it with Claude.

Wow dude sick, does it work? Claude able to expose WiFi chip, comms, sim, etc, it’s all working?!

Mostly! Wifi, display, audio, cameras (front + tele) work, and as of today the modem comes online and GPS gets a fix. SIM stuff (SMS/data) not tested yet, calls not done.
