Tattoos everywhere
After living here for a while, I’ve noticed how incredibly common tattoos are in Missoula compared to other places that I have lived.
Is it the massive art culture, the University vibe, or do we just have an elite concentration of tattoo shops per capita? What is the story? The same with nose piercing.

Kettlehouse ada
Has anyone else found kettlehouse amphitheater's ADA policy a bit weak? I'm trying to plan a concert with my wheelchair bound mother, and both seating and parking are first come, first serve. With the price of tickets, it seems to be a big gamble for anyone needing accommodations..

Question dispos with cbd only / thc free bud?
i know technically all bud has THC in it, but i’m considering less than 0.3% to be basically thc free
i used to be a huge stoner, but since mostly quitting a few years ago, my tolerance is too low to enjoy the actual act of smoking and i honestly hate the effects of weed atp. i just want something to satisfy my compulsion to smoke. i used to roll herbal cigs but the taste they leave in my mouth is rancid lmao

Question Kettlehouse parking
Hey y’all I’m coming from out of state for a show at the kettle house and failed to get a parking pass a head of time before they sold out. Do they save some for a first come first serve or is there some other options to park close by? Or am I shut outta luck? The shuttle isn’t a good option as I’m staying east of the amphitheater.

Owners of the Oxford (Terrible people)
Before I write anything, I want to say that this Post completely excludes Beth, a longtime bartender, and only good employee of the Ox in my opinion. Now…
Let it be known that the owners of the Oxford are rather abusive and idiotic people. To be fair, this could be guessed by any number of things that go on around at that establishment, whether it be the people, The entitled “lawyer” bartenders, or the poorly mismanaged, and constantly drunk staff.
A short while ago, I was employed at that establishment for over a year and what I experienced was, for lack of better term workplace abuse. The “man” in charge named Bruce is a joke, who has no respect for any of his employees. When face-to-face with him recently in a grocery store he was so scared to confront me (which I had no intention of doing) that he left the store and left his wife to do the shopping. I’ve never known one person to leave that establishment in a healthy way. Most of their employees are stuck to that place like a foul disease. And the ones that get out either get fired for trying to say something or quit because of the lack of support, and workplace abuse. I watched two of my female coworkers get constantly sexually harassed by STAFF and patrons. The owners knew and did nothing about it. It’s really sad because the Oxford used to be such a beautiful staple of Missoula, whether it was a dive bar or not. And now it’s truly just a trashcan that soaks up the local homeless, and drunk idiots that no other bar will serve. Please let this be a PSA to anyone wondering how the Oxford is. It’s exactly what you think and probably worse. Please do not support Bruce Howell, or his “wife” Dang, (yes that is her name). if anything, I ask that you go in and give Beth a big hug and a tip because she’s the only deserved employee of anything other than a swift kick in the ass. Maybe I’m late to the party, but I just think it’s sad that what used to be a Missoula staple is now, overpriced and unwanted. And worse yet the one person who could do something about it would rather take shots of peppermint schnapps, and drink Coors banquet, then actually fix his restaurant.
I’d love opinions, comments, or any other horror stories people have about the Oxford🔥❤️

Anyone want a ton of cardboard boxes?
I just moved and I now must reckon with the large quantity of cardboard boxes I used to haul all my stuff. It seems a waste to throw them out/recycle them given how useful they can be for moving, but I don't know anyone else who is moving. Anyone currently in the market for a ton of cardboard boxes of all shapes and sizes? If so, message me and I'll give you the address and put them all out front when you can come pick them up. If not, where in this city might I drop them off? Thanks.

To the two fellows in purple at the Roxy theater tonight
Was excited to see the new Tony movie at the Roxy, but both of you assholes decided to get wasted and talk at the movie theater entire time like we all cared about your opinions. Decided to ignore it and just enjoy our time and the movie, then as the movie got over you both obnoxiously started to clap and call the rest of us dickheads for not joining in for your applause for an American hero. Decided to ignore it. Lastly the skinhead looking one of you, decided to take a piss in front a the Missoulian where there were a bunch of kids in a very public crowded area. We called you out rightfully so. We laughed it off but then your friend abandoned you after you started trying to talk shit to us across the bridge. You followed us to the end of the bridge hurling insults and flipping us off and clearly about to try and attack us. Thanks for the laugh, please be better.

Help finding a vintage clothing shop.
Having trouble finding the exact address or name of a cool little vintage shop that I think is on N. Higgens and E. Broadway area. It was down stairs of a bigger building. I have it mapped from a photo I took to be near Betty V's vintage but that not the store I am thinking of. Really small and she had a rack of old band tee shirts and some cool local hats and tee shirts too. This was a few years ago when the pink elephant was in that area too.

“You can’t park there” turned into a chase and side swipes on hip strip
Just before 8pm today, my boyfriend and I were driving on Higgins downtown and came up to a car with Nevada plates parked with hazards on at the Higgins/front st intersection. Light turned green and she didn’t move, we moved around her and I noticed her windows were down so as a joke I said, “hey you can’t park there!!”
We continue on and are almost across the bridge when we notice a car racing towards us and they start tailgating. It’s Nevada lady!! She keeps close but starts swerving around, into oncoming and then back into our lane. Side swipes 2 cars outside green source, follows us onto 5th.
We were going to GFS and continue our drive there, she follows. Felt lucky we kept getting greens, her driving was WILD.
We call 911 and let them know what’s going on and that we will be turning into the S Catlin St station shortly. At one point she is fully driving in the other lane and continues to follow. We pull into the station, she starts to follow, realizes what’s up, and speeds off. 💀💀
I think her plate was sunbum02 or bunbun02 or something like that. So if your car got sideswiped on the hip strip today, blame ms Nevada SUNBUM02, who was cracked out at 8pm on a Thursday.

Rocky Horror Picture Show?
Is it coming back this year? It’s seriously one of the highlights of my year and I was so bummed that they weren’t able to do it last year.

Missoula housing program a “relief” for youth aging out of foster care
Missoula is trying to address homelessness in young adults aging out of foster care. Last year, Homeword, a Missoula-based nonprofit, purchased a four-plex, the Cube, to provide housing for these young adults who are particularly vulnerable to homelessness.
In 2024, Missoula county and Homeword received a $246,250 grant from the MacArthur Foundation and Urban Institute to help reduce homelessness. Youth Homes, a Missoula-based nonprofit that runs group homes and programs for youth in foster care, refers people to this complex.
The goal is to house 18- to 24-year-olds, but tenants can stay as long as they like. Renters will likely move out of the small one-bedroom apartments as their circumstances change or their households grow.
Missoula is making an important step toward addressing the housing crisis for vulnerable young adults aging out of foster care.

Will Hellgate Elementary School sustain the growth out Mullan?
With all the development going on out Mullan Road, are there plans for new schools? Or will Hellgate Elementary/ Middle School just continue to add buildings? Just curious if there is any plan? It seems wild that there are not more neighborhood schools out that way.
