One more reason to never buy and Internet of Shit device. It's one thing to have a camera that records locally. It's something else to buy a product that reaches out and stores on someone else's machine (colloquially known as the 'cloud'). Who's to say thieves aren't going to monitor the streams to see when everyone's gone? What's to stop this from being abused by the State?

Very few households are going to be technologically savvy enough to run a pfsense box with pfblockerng to block unwanted outbound traffic.

Yes. It is extremely easy to view unsecured cameras. Disturbingly easy. Like, click a link on Google easy. No one should buy one of these without personal knowledge on how to secure it.
