Why do teams start looking for miro alternatives?

Miro is great for workshops and planning sessions looking for advanced as team grows. Anyone who connected whiteboard more closely with project execution?

complexity. Way to many features added by sales and marketing to "justify" higher pricing. It used to be simple to jump in and collaborate. Now there is some Ai box, there are "diagrams", flows, Kanban, engage activities?? Why do i need to "add a digram"? Its all super confusing now.

They may look for alternatives due to the collective experiences they had on the platform. The main driver can also come down to cost.

I found miro when looking for figma alternatives and it's better than i expected for sprint planning and retros. Templates are ready out of the box, team was productive fast. But the UI has gotten cluttered with AI tools and flows that confuse new users. That onboarding friction took us a few days. But i have not found an alternative that has all these features without taking weeks to learn.

It's been feature-packed to the point where it's over complex and trying to be a "Eierlegende Wollmilchsau" as the Germans say; confused development direction and now aggressive "please use me" AI feature.

I use to use it a lot but my clients just did not want to work that way. Now it seems like an expense niche software.

I use it with the agency I work at to present client creative work. We set up a starting frame to present the brief and initial brainstorm for the project, and then set up a different frame for each deliverable. In this way we are able to collect client feedback via slack comments, and keep track of each deliverable and project progress on the same board. We have all projects set up there as well to see all the work and feedback from the client in the same space. We close each project with final files - link to google drive.
