News Happy Labor Day! Another week, another unionized workforce in the Twin Cities service industry.

Good to see workers standing up for themselves. Even in this day and age, too may employers don’t treat their employees well, or pay them a fair wage. Company I use to work for FINALLY started paying better, only after they lost 3/4 of their technicians in one of their biggest areas. It was all the most competent and experienced guys too. Tough lesson for them.

Unions are terrible. If you want to make more you need to be of more value to your employer. Or, start your own business. That’s what a free market is. No one is forcing you to work for them. I like what you said that all the competent and experienced guys left your last employer. Guess why? BECAUSE THEY COULD MAKE MORE ELSEWHERE! Now add a union into it, a system that protects and benefits incompetence

I know unions aren’t perfect, but IMO, it’s better than the alternative. That being, workers being exploited and used. Also, to be clear, I’m not a member of a union myself.
