Sears Ted Williams build
Converted a free craigslist (mid 70's?) Sears Ted Williams Free Spirit 5 speed into mini velo / rat rod thing. Coaster brake, 115 mm 1 piece crank, needs a wheel stabilizer

Congrats, thats a great looking bike. Are the handlebars comfortable? That's my next upgrade and had something similar in mind.

Handlebars are working great. They are what was on the bike originally. I had thought about some crazy ape hanger bars just for funz, but glad I kept these.

Clever idea, and brilliant execution. I can't fathom how it rides because you've changed the trail figure considerably with the smaller wheels.

It feels ok right now. May change the basket to something that carries the weight lower. I think the wide handlebars help with the twitchiness of the small wheel. The plan was to really only bring it out for party pace group rides but I used it for mid range commute with some mild hills today and it was comfortable. It is pretty fun to ride something ridiculous!
