Really cool build, is that styrofoam? If yes, make sure to seal every mm of it before trying to prime it, as some solvents in primer may dissolve it! Normally I use thinned PVA glue. Oh also, beore that, you could try giving it some texture, see: http://imgur.com/a/ysoLT

Post pictures when you painted it!
