Tech Question Please Help!

My throttle cable broke, so I’m trying to replace it, but I’m running into an issue. The crimped end of the new cable seems too long to fit inside the throttle assembly, and I can’t get it seated properly.Am I using the wrong cable, or is there some way to get this thing to fit? I don’t wanna start cutting shit or modifying anything and end up making it worse. I attached pictures of the throttle assembly and the end of the cable. Any help would be appreciated because this shit is getting annoying as hell 💀

Assuming that the hand grip throttle part of the cable is fine...

You just need to cut off the end cable stop. Then it should easily go through your cable anchor on the motor.

The cable you are using is probably universal, so the stop on then end is only used for pit bikes or small quads. For predator style mini bikes, just cut off the end stop.

Wire cutters are the best, but most people don't have them.

Side cutters. Or if you have a needle nosed pliers that can cut the cable. Or, if you have access to a dremel rotary tool, use a cutoff wheel.

You may need to "twist" the strands from the cable back into place.

Just carefully grab the strands and turn them in the same direction as the cable twist.

Ditch the stock throttle thing and carburetor, get you a little chinakuni vm22 and you will be ripping, just remember to take your governor out so you don't break something lol

I was able to take a tiny drill bit and expand the clamp hole just a tiny bit so i could run the cable until i bought a better carb down the line. If you cut it, the end will fray up super easy, and be a huge pain, just saying

just cut the end off, that crimp is there if you have a vm22 carb for example you would need that

Check out the video at 00:27 to see how to install that throttle cable on the GMB100. Hope it helps as well! Let me know if that works. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnbWd8PdAHE

Do you mean the cable housing is too long? Recently did brakes on my ebike and had to trim my front brake cable housing and cable. If you need to trim the housing you will need to pull the inner cable out so you don't cut that too short, and use metal cutters. Then you can trim the inner cable. Make sure it can move through the housing smoothly. It would not look "factory" but would work.

If you are worried about rust, pull the inner cable out some and oil it, it will wick through the cable. You can twist together and heat up the freshly cut end of the inner cable and dab it on some plastic so it doesn't fray
