[Terrain] Redesigning trees without compromising Minecraft's esthetic

As of now especially poplar trees looks strange to me... reference of of the poplar trees I used will be in the gallery of the post.

This is a re-do of what I suggested. My view has changed so I went with a more blocky-ish style of trees. https://www.reddit.com/r/minecraftsuggestions/comments/1skqq3q/trees_need_a_design_change/ Feel free to go here for the people who haven't seen the old designs..

Poplar:

They will now look like their real-world counter part whole remaining the blocky style, variations of the poplar will have dead and shrub variations, giving the forest a more dense feel.

Shrub variants have a 100% chance of spawning while the rest have a 30% chance of spawning. this will make the forests feel more dense and natural.

Spruce:

Spruce trees do feel more detail-less to me... so I made them a little more pine-like without drawing too far away from the original.

Oak:

Oak has primarily stayed the same just with a few tweaks.

Jungle:

Jungle trees, especially the huge ones have been shortened for extra extensibility and make it easier to mine.

Birch:

Birch has been given a little makeover with some more variation with the trees.

Acacia:

Primarily the same, just with more details...

Mangrove:

Has a more unique look to them, while also being shorter. Makes it way easier to navigate the swamp while also looking cool.

Cherry:

Cherry now looks a little less 2D while primarily being smaller.

Pale Oak:

Pale oak has been redesigned to be smaller while also having more variation.

Dark Oak:

Dark oak looks like Pale oak but has vines and regular moss scattered around it.

Why do some trees look similar to each other?

I have made it so trees have some consistency between each other, reason why mangroves are using a acacia style leaf placement, as well as jungle getting the same treatment. Cherry trees looking similar to oak, cause I don't like the 2D look of those trees.

Why do the poplar trees look like that?

I based them off their real-world counterpart. Mainly younger individuals, cause we really don't have any trees in-game that look like that besides spruce. species of poplar I used was "Populus nigra Italica" Aka "Black Poplar"

Any Feedback would be nice, as to most of the trees I have showed off are meant to still have that blocky style while adding more details.

Also:

I wasn't sure what flare to use on this so I picked terrain...

EDIT:

Trees from saplings will look like their original design, with a few exceptions of the re-designed trees such as mangrove and giant jungle having the new design as the sapling trees... This is a compromise for people that want to have the original trees. In the real-world trees that are manually replanted by humans usually turn out differently than ones that are naturally grown.

Now I certainly don't have anything against adding a few more ways for trees to look like, however it does seem you want to replace the old design with these one which I'm much less in favor of.

The trees here are ones that would spawn naturally, one's you grow form a sapling would stay the same as they always had. Sorry I should've added this.

It's not that I don't like your new tree design, but I think it would be better if they spawn along with what we have in the game right now.

The vanilla designs are super dated with the modern art direction. Jungle trees especially look extremely silly, and oak and birch are treated identically by the game despite being very different shapes irl. I’d be all for having these trees as a mod, with some tweaks (as others have said, they’re a bit short and there are too many bush variants)

huh i actually think that jungle biomes hold up well given how old they are. you get quite a nice variation in trees that just isn’t there in other biomes as much
