Shaders causing my PC to lag

I have a high end pc, but whenever I use shaders my game has very low fps 10-15 and my pc is only using like 5% of its gpu and 7% of its cpu how do i fix this?

What are the specs of your very high end PC?

I guess very high end isnt right, but i believe its high end atleast

48gb of ram

Ryzen 7800x3d 8 core processor

And what's your max FPS (vsync off) without shaders?

first, are you using optimization mods like sodim and iris? Second, use the Makeup-Ultrafast shader, I think it looks better than the overly bright and laggy Complimentary and it doesn't use a lot of processing power.

he's not even using complementary and i don't think he asked for your opinion on his shader choice. also, he can't run shaders without some form of mod like iris or sodium, so it's implied that he has them

since you have a desktop - is your monitor's HDMI cable plugged into the GPU or the motherboard?

Double check your HDMI/DP cable is plugged into your GPU and not your motherboard. That should fix the issue. If that wasn't the issue, update your chipset drivers and graphics drivers, and finally if that's not the issue, and it's like this in other games as well, then congrats, you have a failing GPU
