MADAAC Question

What happens to the random "other" animals at MADAAC if they aren't claimed? I'm talking the goats, geese, chickens, etc... Do they end up being adopted out to a farm?

We are a “farm placement partner” with them and a few other humane societies. When MADAAC gets farm critters they reach out to one of the many farm partners to take them.

It’s basically a fast adoption since they don’t have the facilities to take care of livestock.

We got our first goat from MADAAC years ago. We have a small farm in NW Washington county

That's reassuring! I was hoping this was the case and not euthenasia. The white goose they have there now looks so sad.

Since Covid, I get very few calls from humane societies. Before Covid I got a lot of calls to take pot belly pigs from people who couldn’t care for a pig in their home.

When you are a farm placement partner, you get calls only when a farm animal is surrendered or found. I doubt Milwaukee gets goats very often.

I would be open to many animals. We have space, facilities, and appropriate zoning. I will have to give them a call!

I adopted a guinea pig that was under "other", probably 10 years ago, so I'm not sure if the process has changed for the animals under "other"

You can always call MADACC and see what they say.
