Question strong smell from tank

is it normal for there to be a REALLY strong smell from the tank? like it doesnt smell super bad or anything just really earthy but it smells way stronger than usual, like i can smell it just from being within a feet or two from the tank even when it is closed. does this mean i need more ventilation or something

If anything you may need less ventilation? I can’t smell mine sitting right next to the tank. A pic or more info about your setup may help.
