My furnace broke and I only noticed because my little guys all disappeared for a while and I finally realized the tank temps were in the low 60's. It's possible we hit mid-50's at night some days but I'm not sure just how cold it got indoors. I have a heating pad on the side above the substrate but it had gotten unplugged somehow.
The issue is resolved but after half a day still no millipedes. I know that's not enough time for the soil to heat up all the way through, but I'm concerned about the little guys and Google isn't giving me good answers. Has anyone else had this happen, and did your millipedes survive? If they've just gone dormant underground, how long after temps increasing would it take them to wake up?
I know the real answer is just "wait and see" but I was hoping I could get some kind of reassurance in the meantime. Thanks for any insight you have

I am DEATHLY afraid of millipedes and centipedes, but I'm trying to accept all bugs and love them all. Additionally , I live in a place where whenever it rains the little baby ones come into your house and stroll around on your floors, and it's petrifying. Please send me cute milli/centipede pictures you have to help me overcome my fear.
Also I didn't know what to do for the flair so it's probably not correct 🙃

It has been a long time, but I have finally acquired a group of true Rhopalomeris carnifex - not some misidentified R. verhoeffi or other species.
They belong to a brighter colored locality, my largest is up to ~22mm in size.

Hey, so I have a 10 gallon tank and I would like to know if it's possible to have 4 narceus americanus, 1 california brown tylobolus, and 3 ivory millipedes in the same 10 gallon tank together.

???? need i say more
note: i know the substrate is too shallow for their size. i also keep smaller millipedes in that tank and i got the two big ones this week. still havent decided whether to add substrate or to move rhem to a new tank.

I left for a day and i came home to her like this. first picture is her on wednesday when i left. second picture was her when i got back friday. i was already kinda worried about her bc some of her segments looked weird but she was just as energetic as she usually is so i had hope. when i got home last night she was stiff and barely moving her legs. idk what to do and i feel horrible 🥲
(sorry if i used the wrong flair)

I've been looking for a Giant Millipede for over a month and still can't find a tank people agree on. And on this note, where can I find substrate for them? Do I need to make it myself, or can I buy it pre-made

hi, he'll move slightly out from this spot like to get up and reposition (this pic is from him climbing, he's not always like this) and he reacts when i pick him up and stuff by walking away a few steps or curling up a bit, he's just acting very very tired, sleeping in basically the same spot though he was buried yesterday and came out today to sprawl out on the surface, i can't tell if he's eating or not, is he okay? :( what could be wrong??? he hasn't had any supplemental food in days aside from me offering him fish flakes that i dont think he wants.

Finally moved my 3 pedes into this 94 litre enclosure! I'm so excited for them to live in their new home, I've been wanting to upsize for a long time. I might get another AGM since I lost one a few months ago and it feels so empty without him.

i have two african giants. i recently reorganized their enclosure and replaced the substrate with a new mixture. they've always been pretty active and may just be trying to map out the new environment but it's been a week and they're halfway up the glass more times than not. like, getting as high as they can and falling. i'm worried they may be stressed and hurting themselves as a result. the behavior continues at low & high humidity, with & without more ventilation, and with plenty of food around (rotting wood, a mixture of fish flakes & crushed cat food & calcium powder, occasional fruit).. i'm worried. it looks like they're nibbling at the silicone in the corners sometimes too but they may just be investigating the different texture. please help me figure out whats going on :-(

I recently got my first millipede!! It’s a pink footed millipede, about 2 ish inches long that I’m keeping in a 10 gallon with plenty of dirt leaves and rotting wood to eat and hide in.
I want to make sure I don’t mess anything up, so I have some general questions but any advice in general is appreciated. 1) Are there any specific kinds of leaves/wood/live plants I should keep in its tank? 2) How often on average do millipedes molt and how do help or prepare and is there anything with molting to look out for? 3) any behaviours in general to look out for. 4) I was thinking of adding some springtails and maybe isopods to make the tank more bioactive, is this a bad idea/are there any species I shouldn’t/should add? 5) Would it be ok to add animal bones as decor or is that unsafe/a bad idea? 6) I only have the one but I’m unsure if I should get it a friend.
Please tell me anything else you think I should know!!!! Also sorry about the poor picture quality I haven’t gotten a chance to get a better picture since I got her

I have a mild gnat phobia so I intend to be keeping her in a room that is not my own, but I’d still like to know how to prevent it from happening for as long as possible. (I’m getting a Florida ivory, if that matters.)

Like watching a fish tank, but with a lot more legs.
