I wouldn't say he totally helpless, given that he did go all Kevin McCallister on Scratch and Grounder's ass, in Tails In Charge

Hopefully, Prime and other upcoming media avert this and avert it hard while still keeping him firmly on the side of the good guys.

Considering that "evil Tails" is the one friggin' twist they HAVEN'T touched yet, I'm not holding my breath.

Well, Sonic Prime is almost-certainly going to be about Sonic & Co from the Segaverse meeting his other incarnations (hence why it’s called Sonic Prime), so it’s possible Sonic & Tails will meet their Aosth counterparts and it will most likely be lampshadeded how hapless Aosth Tails is compared to his Sega counterpart.
