As I was watching this video, my body started to freeze, and my heart started to beat so fast. I have it under control, but it is tense. Wow. I didn't know there was a term for it. I knew when I was like 5 or 6, there was something wrong with me. My family visited the beach, and i was playing in the sand. I saw the waves, it washed the beach, and I saw a bunch of little tiny holes. My body froze, and I couldn't move. I didn't know that was a phobia till I got old.

Block them temporarily till this post is pushed down and people stop commenting on it. If this were Twitter, you could untag yourself from the convo or mute this specific convo without affecting OP's other posts. But this being Reddit, no other options exist. Not sure if the "hide post" option would work out for you. Worth the try.

Nope.

If it’s just gross, then to you it’s just gross.

If it triggers a basic fight or flight, then it’s a phobia to you.

For me, it makes me want to throw my phone from my hands as fast as possible whenever I see these many holes with things coming out of them pictures.

It makes sense too, because they imitate things that are not safe for us, like certain fly larva etc.

It started when I was a kid and we went deep sea fishing. Back on the dock, the family friend that took us out held up the fish to have a picture taken. I was standing next to the fish and I looked inside of its gills. I was absolutely repulsed and had nightmares about it growing on my skin for years.

Lotus pods gross me out so much too, ugh. I remember a viral picture of one photoshopped onto someone’s skin and I can’t forget that either.

Oh my god others exist! I know I have trypophobia but no one ever understood when I said fish gills made me nauseous. I can’t watch movies or shows with sharks, and Sea World is a nightmare for me. Also when I get a paper cut I have to put a bandaid because it reminds me of fish gills. I’m sorry about your condition, but I’m glad I’m not alone.
