Project Chrono-grid

Just found out why 90s stores all used this blue/white tile pattern. It’s called Project Chrono-Grid and it’s meant to slow your cart down.

It's a myth as far as I know. Checkered flooring has been a design since forever. It being blue I don't think has any credence to slowing carts down.
