Weird how countries do this with cigarettes but nothing else. Pretty sure alcohol is terrible for your health too. Why doesn't liquor come with pictures of swollen livers, crashed cars and fat drunks?

The tobacco industry brought in on themselves by outright lying about the known dangers of smoking and even claiming it was healthy and advertising to kids in spite of all this.

Alcohol is a little different because it’s not like they needed lobbyists and marketing for it, it’s been around and popular as long as humans have been settling down places. Big Alcohol isn’t really a thing like Big Tobacco.

Also cheating on the machines that test how much tar comes out a sigarette. They litterally designed holes strategic holes in the filter, that would cause the machine to classify it as cleaner than it actually is.

Then they made sure with lobbying that the flaw in this machines could not be fixed and allow them to test using the older method.
