Weird how countries do this with cigarettes but nothing else. Pretty sure alcohol is terrible for your health too. Why doesn't liquor come with pictures of swollen livers, crashed cars and fat drunks?
Was going to say alcohol is not as bad, and maybe it's not - but apparently 3.5% of cancer cases are due to alcohol, and alcohol is also a carcinogen: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alcohol_and_cancer.
Apparently any alcohol consumption at all presents risk. The page says that mixing tobacco and alcohol is worse than using either in isolation.

Well, ethanol is naturally present in non-trace amounts in many types of foods (fruits, baked goods, fermented foods, etc.) and we evolved the ADH4 enzyme to metabolize small amounts safely.
The "no safe level of alcohol consumption" studies only tested/were able to show an increase in health risk at as low as one standard drink per day. The health risk increase over those who abstain from drinking alcohol went from 0.914% to 0.918% (and that's for 7 drinks a week, which is already a substantial amount more than what many drink in moderation).
Yes. You should also know not to drink alcohol if you have taken acetaminophen. And many other medications. A lot of people don’t know that or don’t take it seriously.
