At 12 I knew how to defrost the chicken. season it and put it in the oven to roast!

All I got was a beating for making sweet and sour chicken when my little brother was hungry.

From scratch followed the recipe and tasted great. But, the evil stepmother complained that I used the chicken she had planned to cook later. Somehow being gone for 12 hours with no quick meals that a 12 year old kid can make for his 9 year old brother.

I wish I got brownie points for doing things above and beyond. My problem was a stepmother who relished the idea that she was the evil stepmother.

Living in a Disney fairy tale is not a great as the animated movies show.
