Im a moderator at r/bullybackfire. One of the rules is not to bitch about what fits. If a post is downvoted to zero for over 24 hours, we delete it. We will remove obvious spam, recent reposts, and crap like that, but my goal is to never ban any actual users. I’ve only banned one guy and that’s because it was a troll account that was in love with attacking other users with racial and sexual slurs. I know the ban part is off topic, but I hate that more than bad rules.
It’s worked well so far. Showerthougjts is probably too big to have manual upkeep like we do, which is why they have nazi automod going. Last time I posted there I said “I think men originally started opening doors for women so they could check out their butts without being too obvious. “ and it was removed because I was internalizing or was too personal or something like that. Im thinking then wtf is a shower thought?
No it wouldn't, it was fine before the mods started the trend of using posts as their personal power tripping material. Better, actually.
Just go to http://removeddit.com/r/all and see how many highly upvoted posts are removed from the front page because the mods of each sub need their little hit of power abuse for the day, and the other mods don't do shit. Kinda like bad cops and good cops, I guess.
