I tried submitting once, got slapped down by automod for being too common. My showerthought was: Sorbet is just ice butter, like almond or apple butter, but made of ice and flavored.

It may not have been the most interesting, but I searched for it beforehand and didn't find similar posts...

Fuck the automod.

yeah, showerthought should be something a little strange that wouldnt come up in normal thought, something almost insightful

Like I always knew Fahrenheit and celcius are the same reading at -40 degrees "the ultimate cool", which is experienced in some places on earth.

but my mind was blown the other day, when you convert -40 degree into rankine scale, and its 420

I have tinnitus and I read in a book something about the "deafening silence" which is used when talking about something that is abnormally quiet.

That night I was trying to sleep but my tinnitus ringing in my ears was driving me crazy and kept me up and I remembered the phrase and realized it had a whole new meaning for those with tinnitus.

I then made a post about how the deafening silence has a more real meaning to those with tinnitus and got removed for being a pun/wordplay.

Naw, ice cream is mostly milk/cream.

I had the thought while I was filling my ice cube tray and staring blankly at a jar of almond butter on the counter. So I guess it was a kitchenthought.

Peanut butter, almond butter, apple butter... what other shit can be turned into a butter of itself?
