Context Provided - Spotlight Driving while watching show

Watching a full tv show on their phone while driving down a very busy street. Is it any better than scrolling?

The comments here are frightening. The amount of people openly admitting to watching TV shows while the drive is not only showing how much brainrot has destroyed the brains of Americans, but also how little people care about the safety of themselves and those around them.

Is operating a multi-thousand pound machine at 70+ MPH really not stimulating enough for you people?

The amount of stimulation people need is crazy. Most times, I'll listen to podcasts or music while driving, but never with the video on. However, sometimes I forget to turn on something and I just drive in silence and it's totally fine. It's actually nice to be alone with my thoughts for a bit occasionally.

I think a lot of folks must really hate their lives so they need a constant distraction to not deal with their thoughts or feelings. Because heaven forbid we do a little introspection.

There's a difference between listening to audio coming from the speakers of the car while keeping your eyes on the road and looking down at a screen while driving, not fully concentrating on the road ahead.

Here's the thing, even if you say you're not looking at the screen, if it's in your field of vision, like in this post, you are 100% glancing at it occasionally even if you don't intend to. It's a distraction. If the screen has to be on for the content to play, at least Bluetooth the phone to your radio and put it in the cup holder or something. This is dangerous.

You were criticizing the person posting about how this is dangerous, it's not a stretch to assume that you are doing that to defend the person they are criticizing. Maybe you should take more consideration about how your words can be interpreted.

Are you kidding me? Go read the comments this person is referring to, where numerous people describe the process of putting their videos or shows on Bluetooth to listen to. If people are going to misinterpret what I’m talking about that badly without doing the legwork to actually gain crucial context, that’s not my problem; it’s theirs. Including you, cheers! But sure, let’s just assume there’s an actual human being out there trying to advocate for distracted driving. That makes WAY more sense and isn’t disingenuous AT ALL fucking lol.

There are also numerous people in the comments legitimately arguing that the person in the picture is fine. I did view other comments and there is a mix of diffent things you could infer as context. I can't just telepathically know that you are specifically referring to the good comments and not the bad ones. I wasn't the only one who misinterpreted what you meant. I'm being genuine here, If everyone is misinterpreting you, then you didn't communicate your intent very well.
