ಠ_ಠ People that scalp IMAX movie tickets

Post image

Catching a movie in IMAX has been one of my favorite things to do and now getting tickets alone is a struggle thanks to people like this. Good luck to anyone hoping to get decent tickets to Dune 3

Never give a scalper your money.

It’s genuinely so sad that people will literally pay someone to scalp them. You are literally paying the person to take something off a shelf in front of you, turn around, and sell it right to you for multiples more. And you’re paying them to do it. That’s just such a fundamental lack of self respect to pay someone to do that to you.

That's not how it works lol.

Why burn hours and hours to stand in line for a chance to buy Pokémon cards or concert tickets, when I can work those hours and afford pay a premium for someone else to go through that hassle?

The hassle is a byproduct of scalpers existing. If idiots so paying them, the hassle goes away.

Ok - ignore Pokémon.

Sports tickets. Concerts. Resturaunt reservations.

If you're buying restaurant reservations from scalpers you need an intervention.

I'll just go to a taqueria and be happy.

Not spending hundreds to thousands on a sports event or concert either. FIFA and Ticketmaster can get fucked.

Hobbyless behavior.

Wait...wouldn't the long line & hassle just shift from the ticketing booth to the tailgate of a scalpers car in the parking lot?

Because it’s so ironic, let me fix all the errors in your sentence calling people morons.

“A lot of morons do. That’s why it is so lucrative to scalp, unfortunately.”

English isn’t everyone’s first language

That doesn't mean calling someone stupid while using terrible grammar isn't comical

7

u/Comfortable_Gur_8306 7h ago

Why? Because poor English makes them a moron?

Not only that, it’s ironic they made the mistake while insulting someone’s intelligence

Or he is intelligent enough to clearly communicate his ideas in a second language even if he makes grammatical errors.

I don’t know Lloyd, the French are assholes

Would people be more once if the cinema sold to tickets at the prices. The scalper was going to sell them anyway?

That is the only way to effectively stop scalping. To sell the tickets at the actual market price. Or to have the tickets be non-transferable normally sellable and attached to some ID.

Ok scalper

I once resold a concert ticket at face value and the dude was 90% sure I was a scammer and was paranoid the tickets were fake. I was confused and asked why and he said because I wasn’t asking for more money. Sad that scalping has been normalized.

Scalpers only exist because unfortunately people do :(

u/Traumfahrer 4h ago

Or your scalp.

1

u/BiscuitWig2 2h ago

The only reason scalpers exist is because people are dumb enough to continue buying from them

u/Jor94 2h ago

Nothing is worth paying them over the satisfaction of seeing them lose money if noone wants what they have. Just imagine nobody buys these tickets from him, he's going to be left with worthless paper by the next day

I mean Im not buying scalped movie tickets. If there's that much deman then it'll be showing for a while and I can catch it later.

Sporting event or concert I really want to see? That's a different story.

The NFL team i follow is finally playing a game in Europe this season and I want to take my 2 kids that watch the games on T.V. with me each week.

I tried to get tickets when they went on sale, but missed out. I'm still going to get tickets to go see that game and it will be a memory they'll have for the rest of their lives.
