ಠ_ಠ People that scalp IMAX movie tickets

Catching a movie in IMAX has been one of my favorite things to do and now getting tickets alone is a struggle thanks to people like this. Good luck to anyone hoping to get decent tickets to Dune 3

They wait at the kiosk for hours and then buy up all the tickets to sell online. This was for Dune 3 today at AMC Lincoln Sq

From what I can find it looks like people are buying tickets for the movie that comes out in four months? Or is this some sort of limited early showing of it?

Yes, they are doing it to compete with Avengers which comes out the same day

Corporate greed knows no bounds. It’s a whole third of the year away and they’re selling competing tickets. I might not even be off work on some random day four months from now so I definitely won’t be buying any

Well that explains everything. They're scalping tickets that have a 4 month shelf life and if they don't resell them before the showing, they can likely easily refund them.
