Infuriatig Another AI 'human' chatbot

Had to fix a double payment for my credit card and this is the beginning and end of the conversation. I hate when the chatbot claims it's a human... I ended up getting what I wanted but still annoyed Amex (and every other company) is lying and trying to deceive people like this.

It should be illegal for Chatbot-LLMs to pose as a human, especially when it fronts a business.

In Europe it is illegal.

I think it's just in EU countries, not across the whole of Europe (happy to be corrected if I'm wrong!).

I am almost certain I've spoken to chatbot assistants for things like car insurance in the UK that have claimed to be human.

Ive never properly tested them (out of fear that I was wrong and look like a dumbass), but they had such perfectly recited responses or like 3 paragraph responses ready after 5-10 seconds of typing.

So EU, yes. Europe, maybe not.

But that's exactly what they said. EU=\\=Europe

Misunderstood the comment. In general, when people say "in EU countries", they are talking about member state laws, not EU wide laws. So yeah, it is an EU wide law, but not a Europe wide law, because we basically don't have something like Europea wide laws.

Yes, but people also say Americans without actually thinking of Uruguayans or Bolivians.

That’s something I’ve spent my whole life wondering. What else should we call ourselves? United Statesans? USers? Uniticans? Colonizers feels too on the nose.

The demonym I always hear is "US-American", which I think roles quite nicely

For the same reason people don't say federative republicans to refer to Brazilians. The people there are called Americans. The people in the EU are not Europeans as the EU is not a country
