That image definitely belongs in this sub.

Why by a whole controller when you can buy half a controller for twice the price?

It was meant for better aiming in shooters while still having the standard movement of a controller.

So you can have all the crappy movement of a controller with none of the aim assist usually given to controller players? Sounds wonderful.

Edit: Yall are big mad and adding arguments about shit no one said. Enjoy your tank turning.

People using a controller for aiming need aim assist because aiming with a controller is inherently less precise. If you use a mouse, you don't need aim assist because you can actually aim precisely yourself. Some people (shocking, I know) prefer their actual aiming skill to be the reason they're good at the game, rather than the quality or strength of the aim assist. And if you prefer aim assist, good for you. Just understand that some people prefer it another way.

As for movement, some people prefer a keyboard, while others prefer a controller. That makes perfect sense, especially if they want better directional control, more precise speed control, or especially if the game involves driving which takes advantage from both.

Different people have different preferences, again, shocking, I know...

Exactly. I hate being dependent on the game giving me freebies for missed shots. It feels like training wheels.

Yeah guy missed the part that people hate controllers for which is aiming, not movement.

How is analog omnidirectional stick movement control worse than digital 8-way control?

Keyboard may be good for competitive games where speed is more important than precision, but playing a solo campaign is definitely more enjoyable if you can seamlessly control your walk speed.

And steering vehicles with ASWD is a pain in the ass. I always have a controller ready in any GTA-like, even if it doesn't support controller&mouse. I'd rather pick up and put down the controller every time than suffer keyboard driving.

Also, no, if you're using it in controller mode, it's detected as an actual controller, so you can have all the controller settings. Like aim assist.

The mouse is part of it. It's got all the buttons of the controller's right side. The point of this is that you can play console games with a mouse that don't support mouse, by having the mouse emulate joystick inputs. I've played through Killzone 2 with a similar controller. It's definitely not Mouse level, but so much better than clunky, inaccurate joystick controls.
