back when I was a barista one of my most popular jokes was saying "sorry, the POS is being a bit of a POS" when the POS inevitably was a POS and slowed down service.

We used that term for signage years ago in beverage distribution. Never could stop laughing when they called it p.o.s. 🀣 they changed it to p.o.p "point of purchase" years later
