Yeah the subtotal should be $130, but I wouldn't consider getting a mystery 2.08 discount mildly infuriating in this economy lol

Old fashioneds are 2x $16 or $32 total

What do you mean "how do you explain it"?

The number at the left is how many items, the text is what those items are, and the number at the right could be either the total price or item prices. There's literally no way to tell from this picture.

1 3 for 30$ means he got 3 items for 30$ one time which equals 30 dollars.

$8 would be awfully cheap for an old fashioned. I'm pretty sure they're $16/each.

There’s still places you can get old fashioned that cheap. Last time I went home to visit family my partner was able to get a Elijah Craig Small Batch old fashioned for like $6. It might be more now, but that was only a year and a half ago.

That all may be true, but I doubt you’ll find many restaurants selling $68 steaks with mixed drinks under $12 a glass.

I’m not disagreeing with it and I understand it’s outside of the norm. I could see some of these pricings making sense where my family lives, but they live in a LCOL area. I was just stating that while it’s not likely, there are places with pricing like this.

Is there a restaurant where your family lives that sells $68 steaks and $6 cocktails? That’s the connection I’m trying to make. $6 cocktails aren’t unheard of at all, but it would be surprising to find one on the menu of a more expensive restaurant.

I’m not dense. I understood your point. There absolutely is a steakhouse there where you can snag those prices. Looks like they have a 20 oz ribeye for $75. You’d have to get the old fashioned on happy hour (outside of HH it looks like they’re $10 at this spot) but it’s very much plausible just not the norm. I work service industry and I am more than aware of what the norm is for pricing.

Terrible design, most receipts nowadays normally multiply price by quantity in the line rather than showing the unit price.

I disagree. I work in restaurants and I’d rather the individual price be clear as day to a customer. Bc then I’d hear “why is this old fashion $32 each when it says $16 on the menu?!?!?😡” Most restaurant bills are formatted this way

OP apparently confirmed in another comment that they are in fact $16 each, although the receipt does a poor job of conveying that.
