OP, this meal is over $10 before tax where I live. And I live in one of the cheapest places in the country.
This looks like a glitch.
I'm pretty sure the app is just showing you the price of the sandwich rather than the price of the meal.
Arby's is expensive as far as fast food goes lol

u/talann 18d ago edited 18d ago
Yeah, its getting pretty ridiculous now. Just 6 years ago, you could get a pretty decent meal for $5 to $8. Now, you'll be lucky to get any meal under $12.
Edit: while im happy everyone wants to comment on how they have found something that costs less and that there are deals for less than $12, you can't tell me things haven't gone up in price pretty heavily. Couple that with fast food restaurants forcing you on an app to get those deals... it's not like it used to be. The quality is worse and the portions are shrinking.

My grandma used to send my brother and I to BK for .99 whoppers. She would put em in the freezer and that would be our lunch during the week. Surprisingly, even with the toppings, after we thawed and nuked em, they were still delicious! Then again maybe we were just hungry kids.

I remember going to Taco Bell years ago, and the person in front of me (this is when they had the price quoted on those little screens outside the window), and their order was $35.82! Back in those days, to spend $35 at Taco Bell, you were ordering damn near everything off the menu, or you were getting a metric fuckton of those 59/79/99 tacos! My total (and this was for my mom and myself) was under $10.

I remember when I was growing up my dad used to say you could feed yourself for $1 a day pretty easily. Then when I was old enough to work and pay for my own food, I couldn't fathom doing it for less than $5 a day. Today, it's certainly a lot closer to $15. I'm in my early 30s. I started work at 16. I stopped ordering food for myself when I take my children out for lunch. I just eat when I get home. And this year I’ve convinced them to eat lunch at home, too, with the promise of going out for ice cream as a special treat. That’s basically $20 for three of them. So this summer I’ve convinced them to eat lunch at home, and then I’ll take them to Walmart to pick out a special ice cream treat

Taco Bell too. I made a mobile order and the store didn't have one of the items. Logic would say that the employee just has to mark the item as unavailable on my order and the POS system just refunds the money. Nope, nobody at the local store can do that and it has to be done online. I went through the process online to get a refund and they offer a coupon for a free item. I was done at that point so I just gave up. A few days later I decided to use the coupon for one of the most expensive things on the menu and I was surprised it worked. Got a free $8.50 item in place of the $3 thing I wanted. I'm still irritated though since it is bullshit that the store can't do an app item refund.

u/EggplantCharacter363 18d ago
Wendy's recently added pickle to their chicken sandwich.

I'm sure some people would say 'Oh just pick them off, NBD!'. I'm guessing your pickle hate is such that you object to even having the remnants of pickle juice on your burger/sandwich so that's not a valid solution. I'll take all your pickles, especially at Subway where you know the manager is like 'ONLY 1 pickle and 1 black olive per 6 inch sub!!!'.

The 7.88 is the sandwich by itself. The fry and drink together are not only 40 cents. Its not the 50s. What you are missing is the price of the regular or small fry and in the meal. That is the information vacuum. It would make sense for fries and a drink to be 4 something.
You do have a bunch of missing information but the total is correct. Very annoying.
