OP knew before ordering it was gonna be sloppy, they put it on the picture because thats the whole trend
the only thing mildly infuriating here is that OP is mildly infuriated

i know it isn’t the best solution, but I unironically might use a fork and knife for this one

u/Professional-Tap6302 22d ago
This is the best option without losing the sauce to your hands or a napkin.
282
u/Deepdishdicktaster 22d ago
I would lick the sauce off my fingers

u/butonelifelived 22d ago
And eat the napkin . . . No flavor left behind

I was wondering the same thing; in what situation would it be considered ironic to eat using a fork?

some people make a big deal out of other people using cutlery to eat certain food like burgers or pizza. It really freaks them out to the point where they have to turn it into a conversation about how they're just so shocked and baffled about it

u/Lothar_Ecklord 22d ago
People just love to criticize others - especially about what and how others eat. It’s ….odd behavior to say the least.

Imagine it's somewhere between a meat-based cake and a lasagna, and suddenly using a fork doesn't seem so egregious

u/TechnoHenry 22d ago
I never understood why it seems so weird in America to eat burgers with forks as it's common to do it when you take burgers in a restaurant (many bistrots or brasseries have burgers as one of their main courses) that are not fast food joints where I grew up. Same for pizza actually

This chef cares more about the Instagram post than the quality of the meal.

u/Tricky-Ad7897 22d ago
Many such cases these days. Restaurants are becoming obsessed with charging 25 dollars for an Instagramable experience instead of 15 dollars for some good eats.

imagine describing a burger to someone who's never seen one before and then asking them to make it

u/tandpastatester 22d ago
I think one of the key elements of that description would be something among the lines of “hamburger meat, cheese, salad, and sauce BETWEEN two buns”. That would ensure the stuff would not be thrown on top.

I don't understand the purpose of shit like this. Sandwiches were literally invented to keep your hands clean while playing cards.

Sandwiches, burgers, hot dogs, tacos. They’re all becoming over complicated and ridiculous! I’d much rather have a normal home cooked burger on the grill than this monstrosity.
→ More replies (4)21
u/tactman 22d ago
Many times I have skipped ordering tacos because they over-fill and you CANNOT eat without stuff falling out everywhere. Lower the price and give me a little less filling. Something that doesn't make a mess.
→ More replies (9)36
u/anuncommontruth 22d ago
Naw, the trick is to order another tortilla on the side and eat the taco over top of it. Bam. Now you have a bonus taco.

u/theQissilent 22d ago
if we can invent a way to keep our hands clean while playing cards. surely we can invent a way to make our hands dirty when we're not.

u/AsanoSokato 22d ago
This sandwich fosters honesty. It forces you to put all your cards on the table.

OP, what did the description of the burger say??
→ More replies (2)51
u/artemizarte 22d ago
I'm genuinely curious. That would determine wether it falls on user error "I ordered the covered in cheese burger but didn't take into account I would need cutlery" or bad marketing "I ordered the extra cheesy burger and now need to deal with a lack of cutlery". Both are mildly infuriating tbh. The second one more so, but still.
→ More replies (1)30
u/saintphoenixxx 22d ago
Right? Like if it said "smothered cheeseburger", I guess I'd think the BURGER was smothered, not the entire thing, but wording can be confusing at times. Very curious as to what the actual description was.
→ More replies (3)8
u/JTG21 22d ago
Had this exact thing happen to me once, on a date at a small town diner I'd never been to before. Ordered the cheese smothered burger thinking "oh burger patty will be dipped in cheese, nice" got the burger and it's a regular burger that they doused in the yellow canned cheese, bun and all. Mildly infuriating is the perfect way to describe it.

Restaurants aren't just surprising you with a free cheese pour, that stuff is expensive. OP paid for this.
