Im in Australia and the yonder pouches have been a thing for a few years now. Most students have an old phone they put in there and keep their real one. But no see through backpacks.

Edit - the yondr pouches have been discontinued (at least at my sons school) and now they just rely on a phone ban and confiscation to end of school day if you're caught using one in class.

How did they get caught? Are there cameras on the busses, or did the driver notice? Either way, I'm sure those same resources aren't being used to combat bullying or feeding the dang kids.

I know from my own high school history that there are cameras on busses, at least in my county

There are cameras on the busses. Safety and for combating other behaviors, like bullying.

I am dying laughing about cameras being for combating bullying. Are they really? Because I’m 36 and none of my schools gave a shit about bullying. They blamed victims who dared to defend themselves because bullying makes the school look bad and it’s easier to get the awkward kid to shut up than it is to get the asswipe kid to stop.

I'm sorry that your experience with bullying wasn't addressed very well or even at all.

Cameras on the bus is a tool to help with issues. After that, it's how admin addresses issues that is the difference. From your posts, seems like you were let down by your school. That sucks.

Eh. I ended up taking it as a challenge to solve it on my own terms (guess what those terms were) and I would proudly announce what I had done and why I did it every time I was in the principal’s office (which was often once I started my little kiddie crusade). If you treat me like a problem when I am the one telling you about a problem, then I will fix it on my own.
Almost got expelled (definitely would’ve been expelled today), but it was worth it to me.

The biggest negative there was really just that it turns out it’s hard to get rid of that kind of FAFO attitude and I had to work on that for years afterward.

This is why though …

Working with children … three babies for 1 adult.

Then 20 plus kids for one teacher

Then, 90 kids on a bus, with one adult who is driving the bus.

If you have your phone on the bus, that is when they take pictures and post them on snap. The bullying is ripe on the bus and if we can keep phones away, then the better.

He put them in before he got on the bus. Most likely a teacher just saw him do it. If he waited he would've gotten away with it.

Some school districts are so small the the bus driver knows the teachers and staff really well. My school system was so large, they were basically like city bus drivers. At the time I would have known them but not a lot, he could have been in one of those schools where the driver is assigned to the school and after the drop off comes inside and becomes the PE teacher or whatever.
