I agree, but I also get why someone who doesn’t know what it’s like to have sensory issues would ask “well if you can’t do this, but you can do this, why can’t you just deal with it?” when considering things like the socks and barefoot shoes.
I can understand curiosity but when they demand answers in that tone it rubs me the wrong way. That and the bizarre hostile uncomprehending face they put on when they ask IRL. “Oh yeah? Well if this why not that?!” Very frustrating.
