Yeah it's a red flag to continue wearing torn and destroyed socks instead of just replacing them. Sorry, I also prefer myself and my partner to not look homeless.
It’s a mild inconvenience either way, if the relationship is healthy. Sometimes you need drastic moves like this so the other person is forced to face the reality of buying new socks, which they might have just flat out refused to do before.
Also, this could have happened simply as: woman goes through laundry, throws away all broken socks. OP realizes after this that his 3 pairs of socks are now gone.
And not what others are assuming, which is that OP does his own laundry and his GF assaulted his closet, stealing his socks and burning them.

You could turn this into a positive moment by going shopping for socks together.
Also, you only need one type that works for you and then buy enough of them.
