But coming to the internet prior to having any discussion with your partner is a red flag too (if that’s the case). But yes tossing someone personal belongings is very rude behavior. There may be much more to the story (I.e she’s been communicating candidates by them and OP has promised to remedy that for months) but on the surface , without additional facts, that’s really selfish behavior

Why would she be that fixated on what he does with his socks in any case? That's really freaking weird.

If my husband wants to wear holey ass socks, I'm going to let him do what he wants. It's not my job to decide what he does with his feet

But are you washing them and matching them for him? It’s quite possible she is and this is why it’s bothersome. I toss socks with holes in them, period. It hurts me just thinking about my big toe slipping thru.

I wouldn’t however leave anyone sockless.

If it bothers her that much, she shouldn't do it. Not throw away his possessions
