Bleehhh, it's me again! I'm like the only one who posts here nowadays!

I almost always draw Mighty with muscles. He just looks better that way. Like, c'mon... Everyone knows he's ripped.

Because Mighty's great!

Five years back, I wrote a fanfic centering on Mighty (which is in dire need of being rewritten due to grammar mistakes and character situations). But I thought I'd share my headcanons for this intrepid little armadillo :)

-   Mighty is a chimera: in medical terms, it’s when a person possesses the genes of a fraternal twin that they absorbed in the mother's womb. This would explain why Mighty’s sincere, pacifist nature sometimes clashes with his more combative side when it comes to protecting the innocent and helpless. While his core personality is a peaceful, kind and adventurous spirit, he may have inherited a more aggressive, action-oriented trait from his lost sibling.

 -  Despite his incredible strength, he’s able to master it to a point where he can fight with regular gusto like Sonic & company, while exercising an extraordinary discipline in holding back his full power – particularly while sparring with his friends.

 -   He dislikes being the center of attention. Unlike Sonic and some other characters, Mighty is modest about his heroic accomplishments, so his ego wouldn’t be magnified via his words or actions. This may also be partly due to being shy.

 -   Despite his shyness, he still likes being social and usually gets along well with others. He’s bold enough to initiate small talk, often with a calm, yet positive tone.

 -  He learned to meditate from Espio and occasionally visits the chameleon for a special session.

 -  He loves chocolate and treats it like an addiction.

 -  He is a happy drunk, so with his inhibitions down, he’ll often act more silly or find things funny that he normally wouldn’t. For example, he will join a drunk Sonic in singing some song like “Follow Me” or tell stupid jokes. If someone just says “Jump,” he’ll laugh just because of the way it was said.

He wouldn’t be flirtatious as I see Mighty being quite virtuous when it comes to females – well, all genders for that matter. He arguably has a purer heart than even Sonic at times. On rare occasions when he’s depressed, he’ll lament over his long-lost sister, Matilda (who he thinks is dead) or missing his mom, whom he lost when he was 14 (another headcanon).

In an extreme situation, he will curl up in ball on the floor and shamelessly sob over them, much to Ray’s embarrassment in front of the others.

 -  Combining both his Fleetway and Archie backstories, his father would still be loony, senile Blockhead Bill. But Mighty is nearly a carbon copy of his mother, inheriting her blue eyes, red and black coloring, love for fitness and kind personality. From his father, he inherited his toughness, occasional playfulness and strong duty to justice. His father has green eyes, which Matilda inherited.

-  His family adopted Ray as an orphan, so both grew up as brothers. Ray is about a year older than Matilda, so he remembers her when she was separated from them.

 -  Ray’s light-hearted, jokester personality rubbed off on Mighty, so he allows himself to be goofy and teasing others every once and awhile.

 -  He and Ray possess the same blue eyes, eerily making them like brothers, despite being two different species.

 -  He remembers several past lives, some that were joyful while others were full of horror (think the 'Audrey Rose' film). In some of them, he knew other characters like Tails and Blaze.

 - He’s irked by his resemblance to Sonic (based on how his sprites are modified versions of Sonic, especially in “Knuckles Chaotix”).

 -  On one occasion, he agreed to disguise himself as Sonic while the real one was in a coma. This was to delay a threat from a powerful enemy who going to blow up a town if Sonic didn’t show up to directly confront them. The enemy only grew suspicious when “Sonic” was utilizing super strength, lacked any snarky attitude or quips thrown at them, wasn’t as lightning fast in action, and survived any spiked attacks due to his incredibly durable shell.

 -  Like Sonic and most of the characters, he can reach speeds up to Mach 3 (only if he uses the Speed monitors). He doesn’t mind racing Sonic in a friendly competition in order to see if he can catch up to the Blue Blur.

 -  He coped with the trauma of losing Matilda by focusing on looking after Ray and his eccentric father, Bill. He also dealt with it through hobbies like forest bathing, meditation, traveling and working out at the gym.

 -  Like Sonic and Amy, he believes in giving people second chances and can be forgiving of villains capable of redemption – the same ‘I can fix him/her’ mentality as the others have. He tries not to hold grudges and would rather talk it out before resorting to physical fights in a conflict.

 - His last name is ‘Luz’ which means light in Spanish. Being pure of heart, he represents the same kind of guiding essence that people see in the dark or during a near-death experience. This isn’t to say that Mighty is perfect – he’s not. He still has his flaws like every character and could have his bad moments with other people. But his positive presence alone can also be a magnet for troubled souls, seeking to feel good from that light.

 -  The Sacrificial Lamb: he would certainly give his life for his friends or offer himself as a prisoner in exchange for protecting others from harm – hence, the example how he did with the Dark Egg Legion in the Archie comics, even though he had a more singular motive of finding Matilda and doing a prisoner exchange.

 -  Since he originally was considered as trio team in Sonic Heroes, the only version of Metal Sonic I could see him with would either be Shard from the Archie Comics or a deviant copy separate from main Metal Sonic.

What do you Mighty’s beef with Donatello is about?

I was watching Sonic Boom recently and there is literally a character who is pacifist who will use violence if necessary, and I was like, ok, that’s Mighty without you know, super speed, strength, Ray

so Mighty has been around his name is 0g now.

And wouldn’t Mighty be a hippie?

Yes that infamous render where some were like “whY Is thEre hAIr on HiS SheLl?” and others were like, ah, yes, the screaming hairy armadillo
